  1. I was really hoping for an outcome similar to this...
  2. Well, you win post of the day kind sir
  3. This must be the kid I saw with Coach Jones and Dirden Saturday morning at Darcy's Cafe. The pancakes must have sealed the deal!
  4. Great step up for the basketball programs. Going to be a fun season at Betty
  5. I don't understand why nothing is successful there, especially being so close to campus. I hate to say this but needs to be a "Herd & Horns" type of establishment.
  6. This would be fantastic with a ramp on I-29
  7. Padron Chile has now closed in Grand Forks after being open for less than a year. I admit being late eating there, but really enjoyed my visit a few weeks ago. Any takers on opening a Vinyl Taco type of establishment?
  8. Gonna be a small crowd at the finals, not good for the bottom line.
  9. Bismarck already has a Northwoods team coming in 2017, NAHL, and now in the running for an independent basketball league. TRF is scheduled to get a junior hockey team. Why has there not been any discussions about Grand Forks being home to a non-college team? The city has 3 large indoor sport arenas and Icon Center, all of which could use another tenant. www.inforum.com/node/4016204
  10. I just hope the city, other than the CVB, did not invest in the tournament.
  11. Free admission to the game tonight courtesy of Hugos
  12. Great article about how ASU transitioned from Club Hockey to D-1. http://www.theplayerstribune.com/greg-powers-arizona-state-hockey/?sf24836337=1
  13. I also am a CoBPA grad and loved Gamble Hall. Perhaps they can tear down the former Alumni House to the north and use it for a small expansion area. There is also plenty of land to the east between Gamble and the library, but that is such a nice walking path.
  14. Who says they are not already? They could also go D3 and play in the 13 team MIAC conference (yes they are not a Minnesota school, stranger conferences exist)
  15. Newman Ice Arena has a nice ring to it
  16. The U of Jamestown Hockey program is really starting to get organized with 13 players already signed. 2016 will be their first year as an ACHA DI Program, with all other sports still at NAIA. Any thoughts on the potential for athletics to become NCAA D-3 or perhaps D-1 in hockey a few years down the road?
  17. Ironically, they chose River Hawks. Seems like the default nickname choice for schools
  18. Thanks for this and two thoughts came to mind. 1) Boise State only has 16 teams and they are FBS and a major university. Puts into perspective the 21 sports at UND 2) Hard to believe women's basketball lost $813,000 for what is likely the most popular women's sport. Eye opening
  19. There is no way REA is making money on this tournament. I have seen free tickets everywhere
  20. Rob Port is usually a blow hard, but here is a great article in Saturday's USA today about college sports. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/2016/04/17/ncaa-football-basketball-power-five-revenue-expenses/83035862/
  21. Wyoming only has one university and seema to be working out well. Besides the terrible football team
  22. so why does it cost more to educate someone not from North Dakota?
  23. Likely the same as a domestic one. The cost of a student is fixed, no matter from North Dakota, other states, or another country. The only difference is, ND kids get a discounted rate instead of the full cost required.
  24. I'm sure equipment and facility cost also play a part
  25. I plan on attending tonight's Canada match, but photos from the Herald seem like a small crowd for yesterday's USA match. However, lot of cool pictures on Instagram are floating around.
