The best part of joining the Big Sky is UND can still join the Summit/Valley later if they are invited and they see it worthy. And the only reason to join the Valley Summit is cause of the other Dakota schools.

Are you trying to copy me? I proposed it back before this thread was established and might be the first to recommend it, but it gets lost in the shuffle. Its by FAR the best nickname. Doesn't have any drawbacks and its probably a name most people would like to see. Sioux fans should be upset that this isn't going to be the nickname cause they will see it as a cowboys vs indians thing. My link

It's a sell out but you can still buy tickets Odd that this game (and a number of others) costs more than the SDSU Jacks. $12 vs $15. I wouldn't know what to think if I just bought four tickets for $60 when I could now just get them for free at BWW.

Two questions: What's the biggest crowd to watch a basketball game in North Dakota? Do the NDSU men return the trip to Grand Forks next year?
-
My math says they were missing 36.8% of their fans. 7000/19000.
-
Word on the street is Kill won over a lot of Gopher fans at the press conference.
-
I like the North Dakota Fighting Plainsmen, I pray ever night the new nickname is not an animal. The best transition would be another "group of people."
-
Read the comments in the newspaper article. 90% of gopher fans are not happy about this choice. Many calling for Maturi to resign/get fired? Maturi's last pick for head coach was horrible (brewster) and I don't see anything changing with Kill. Glen Mason had over a 52 winning percentage at Minnesota over ten seasons with a 60% winning average the last five years he was there......and he was fired.
-
I am glad they hired him. He seems like an average coach. Kill has a 23-16 record at NIU Southern Illinois (55-32 in seven seasons), Emporia State (11-11 in two seasons) and Saginaw Valley State (38-14 in five seasons).
-
Not for him as he mentioned. He profits from both cities. Its funny. Our neighbors, the ones most like us, seem to be the ones we are suppose to hate (rivalry).
-
That's a well kept secret.

UND/SCSU fan social set for Saturday, December 4th
Cratter replied to Dave Berger's topic in Men's Hockey
Considering Siouxsports.com is a sponsor of this event (which is cool to see) are there any members here planning on attending? -
And the originator of the trophy, UND alumni.

I could never buy a Plasma. The glare would drive me crazy.
-
To bring up an old topic, but I love showing off my projector. Here's a picture of me watching the Sioux beat Wisconsin in High Definition on the 100" "TV" in my apartment! And a couple Sioux fans doing the "terrorist fist jab" in the background. (maybe I should have combed my hair)
-
This is where you start to get worried with a split.
-
Does this make you delusional? Or just simple minded since there was 12k at the Fargodome tonight? The attendance has got to be one of the greatest disappointments in NDSU football history.
-
Don't you have a picture of a Sioux football player as your avatar on bisonville.com?
-
7-0 RM scored on the opening drive. Didn't expect that. Lots of run plays. The quarterback likes to run.
-
Lennon's third year as head coach.
-
Six more hours to sell tickets and I am sure there will be a large walkup crowd.
-
And is it really needed by UND? an extra 4-6,000 fans every other year for one game at UND? Percent wise of fans attending sporting events at their perspective colleges UND would have less to gain.
-
I am sure that Notre Dame is hating it!!! But the Sioux are LUVIN it. I get up and dance. When people see how much fun I am having to the song they start having more fun too

So on the biggest eve of Bison football ever, I took a sioux fan bus to the hockey game. Boy was it fun. Another sellout crowd. Bus after Bus lining up outside the ralph. I boarded one. Looked out the window and saw the magnificent Ralph Engelstad Arena as we parted. Sioux fans in the back of the bus started chanting "!@#$ the gophers." I was reminded how little the word "bison" even cross most Sioux fans mind..... Just went to bisonville.com. Clicked their main sports page: "football"....clicked "playoff crowd" (only topic in the top five relating about the game tomorrow).....went to the current page (25) with six of the eight posts having some kind of reference to the Fighting Sioux. Different cultures indeed at the two schools.
