And is it really needed by UND? an extra 4-6,000 fans every other year for one game at UND? Percent wise of fans attending sporting events at their perspective colleges UND would have less to gain.

I am sure that Notre Dame is hating it!!! But the Sioux are LUVIN it. I get up and dance. When people see how much fun I am having to the song they start having more fun too
-
So on the biggest eve of Bison football ever, I took a sioux fan bus to the hockey game. Boy was it fun. Another sellout crowd. Bus after Bus lining up outside the ralph. I boarded one. Looked out the window and saw the magnificent Ralph Engelstad Arena as we parted. Sioux fans in the back of the bus started chanting "!@#$ the gophers." I was reminded how little the word "bison" even cross most Sioux fans mind..... Just went to bisonville.com. Clicked their main sports page: "football"....clicked "playoff crowd" (only topic in the top five relating about the game tomorrow).....went to the current page (25) with six of the eight posts having some kind of reference to the Fighting Sioux. Different cultures indeed at the two schools.

Notre Dame is for real. Probably split. I think we will see Eids in net one of the nights.

I hate to give a way my secrets especially to a Bison Fan but here you go. It's top notch rankings. They use it to help determine the Champion Game in the BCS. It should help you realize just how weak Robert Morris is. Massey Ratings 23-6.

Anyways.....Now that we all agree NDSU was better than Montana this year (and the computer rankings even back it up). They also say NDSU has a 90% chance of winning this game.
-
Your right UNDershirt. Welcome to the Board. But I wouldn't expect them to run the bubble screen four times in a row. I was tired of watching it back then, but found myself wishing they used it a lot more this year especially with our seemingly inaccurate passers. For what its worth, one of the plays was the "long run of the day." He gets a little more leeway. As much as I may be unhappy with Mussman, I wouldn't fire him this year. He is learning and had a lot of things going against him.
-
You mean like the exact same run play four times in a row at Montana?
-
Maybe people can educate me on FCS playoffs, but it sounds like it needs to be reevaluated. Sounds like the decisions are made in a smoke filled backroom. Oh and by the way, its not a hard set rule you can't make the playoffs without seven wins:
-
I am here for you Oxbow. I completely get what you are saying. People forget where all this "disagreement" started. WyoBison thought Montana would get in with a "stronger schedule." Exactly. "Stronger Schedule" not necessarily. Those are arbitrary words. Hindsight it 20/20. When Montana saw their schedule in the beginning of the year they weren't like Oh no a D2 team. Maybe we should not have scheduled them cause they will get us out of the playoffs. As Oxbow said: It's simple. Win more games and Montana makes the playoffs.
-
I know how FCS teams get into the playoffs thanks but it's not all that matters. Numberous FCS teams across the country schedule D2 teams. They must not have the attitude of holier than thou. It's not just about the first to seven wins cause UND is again playing FBS teams. Winnable games yes but not likely. They wanted the money. They could have just scheduled a couple Valpo teams at the alerus and be two wins closer to 7. So if you going to schedule two "almost automatic" losses. Not a big deal playing teams we have played for centuries.
-
Sounds like 1 and 3 could be applied to UND playing a Division 2 school.
-
I think even if Landry doesn't get hurt Sioux fans would still be talking about a 2010 Season in Review. 2010 Season in Review: 1: Total number of wins against IAA opponents with football programs before this year.
-
Care to tell me how Minnesota (any FBS teams) has gained anything by playing DIAA teams, aside from filling holes in their schedule?
-
Teams cancel their scheduling commitments all the time. Happened to NDSU that's why they called. Just pointing out that yes it is easy to believe they will play again in the foreseen future, especially now that UND has a conference. And one or both could easily "change their stance." I haven't heard one AD say yet lets just play a simple home and home for starters and go from there?! Wow there's a shocker. Schedule NDSU like you do with most other nonconference games. It might mean a lot to North Dakota natives but for these two non North Dakotan AD's they have a lot more to worry and care about than one football game a year.
-
Well sort of NDSU bought 500 tickets to give to students. Might change your prediction a little. Is there going to be statewide TV for the biggest football game in NDSU history?
-
Yes easily. The NDSU AD called the UND AD this year looking to schedule a game.
-
It's acceptable for FBS to play down, but not for FCS teams?! Thanks I needed a good laugh.
-
When Mussman was asked what his goals were against South Dakota State was "hanging around in the fourth quarter with an opportunity to win." Talk about keeping those standards high. He's saying they wanna not be totally blown out and then maybe in the fourth quarter they can get lucky and win. At halftime of the Montana game and at the end of the South Dakota State game Mussman keeps stating "We need(ed) to establish the run game"......really? You have Zero passing game and the opponents know it and your trying to get the running game going?
-
Anything less than a sellout at the Fargodome would be a huge disappointment for a city the size of Fargo and it being such a huge football town.
-
And along those same lines I would say. Nobody should be surprised when UND hockey attendance drops: Hockey attendance can't increase (obviously cause its near the top of capacity). The Sioux will no longer be in a conference with Minnesota and Wisconsin. (Let's be honest hockey is king cause it was the only Division I sport and it was in a conference with Big Ten schools. This will no longer be the case) Combine that with a couple losing season and the Ralph Engelstad Arena continuing to get older.... I would easily see UND averaging 7000-9000 or less. You heard it hear first. I wouldn't "accept a self correction" for UND football either if UND football moved into a state-of-the-art stadium that the entire country is envious of with over twice the capacity of the old arena (meaning the new capacity would be over 20,000), but that's simply not the case with UND football.
-
Oh my Gosh. That answer is easily yes. It's not just "players, recruiting, transition." Plain and simple a Dale Lennon team plays to win. Remember that amazing fake punt at the Alerus during the championship run. There is no way a Dale Lennon teams punts the ball when you have nothing to lose at Montana down by 2 scores, inside their territory and there is only 4:30 left to play!!! One word comes to mind: INEXCUSABLE!!! and i could go on about numberous other incredible stupid things about this team. and Lennon left because he got a huge pay raise. Not cause he did not want to lead his alma mater through a transition to a division he urged UND to get to.
-
He saw this team was going to be crappy and let us know about it? WOW that's impressive! Does he think next years also going to be a "up and down season" too?
-
It's probably one of the lowest percent pass attempts completed coupled with the lowest completed passes in a game.
-
Nope, he just sucks even worse than Hendrickson at throwing the ball. He's a decent runner but so is Hendrickson. Henrickson is/was clearly the better of two evils. Only thing is Goska understands the offense better. Goska in the first quarter with his feet set, with no pressure, threw it right at the ground to a wide open receiver. He was then pulled.
