    FCS Post Season

Anything less than a sellout at the Fargodome would be a huge disappointment for a city the size of Fargo and it being such a huge football town.
  2. And along those same lines I would say. Nobody should be surprised when UND hockey attendance drops: Hockey attendance can't increase (obviously cause its near the top of capacity). The Sioux will no longer be in a conference with Minnesota and Wisconsin. (Let's be honest hockey is king cause it was the only Division I sport and it was in a conference with Big Ten schools. This will no longer be the case) Combine that with a couple losing season and the Ralph Engelstad Arena continuing to get older.... I would easily see UND averaging 7000-9000 or less. You heard it hear first. I wouldn't "accept a self correction" for UND football either if UND football moved into a state-of-the-art stadium that the entire country is envious of with over twice the capacity of the old arena (meaning the new capacity would be over 20,000), but that's simply not the case with UND football.
  3. Oh my Gosh. That answer is easily yes. It's not just "players, recruiting, transition." Plain and simple a Dale Lennon team plays to win. Remember that amazing fake punt at the Alerus during the championship run. There is no way a Dale Lennon teams punts the ball when you have nothing to lose at Montana down by 2 scores, inside their territory and there is only 4:30 left to play!!! One word comes to mind: INEXCUSABLE!!! and i could go on about numberous other incredible stupid things about this team. and Lennon left because he got a huge pay raise. Not cause he did not want to lead his alma mater through a transition to a division he urged UND to get to.
  4. He saw this team was going to be crappy and let us know about it? WOW that's impressive! Does he think next years also going to be a "up and down season" too?
  5. It's probably one of the lowest percent pass attempts completed coupled with the lowest completed passes in a game.
  6. Nope, he just sucks even worse than Hendrickson at throwing the ball. He's a decent runner but so is Hendrickson. Henrickson is/was clearly the better of two evils. Only thing is Goska understands the offense better. Goska in the first quarter with his feet set, with no pressure, threw it right at the ground to a wide open receiver. He was then pulled.
  7. To summarize: we wanted to the Big Sky, but we like the Summit cause we're in that conference now?
  8. Mussman couldn't get fired soon enough! He's killin Fighting Sioux football!
  9. Who recruited these two horrible quarterbacks?

But UND also play hockey versus Wisconsin this weekend. It's only about ten times more important to Sioux fans.
  11. Are you living in the Candyland? Watching the Sioux (or any Division I team) play anybody, even themselves, is well worth more than $15!!! Do I always have to be the Voice of Reason? Guess how much it will cost you to watch Sioux Falls every game??? $10!!! God could you imagine if Sioux Falls charged an extra $5 a ticket you would really be upset!!
  12. You could be right the 13,500 could be suites and standing room. But you don't generally include standing room in capacity. Plus that number if obviously vague and rounded nicely. 12,283 (notice its an exact number) is listed on fightingsioux.com and even this website. Much better sources. Its a little strange we even have to "wonder" what the real number is and what it includes how hard is it for them to come out and tell us.
  13. You mean 12,283 for the Alerus? What is "it"? No I am pretty sure "it" isn't about percent capacity, pretty sure this topic was started about the number of people attending Sioux football games.
  14. Not really. Especially when it was a 20% increase from previous years. It's just leveling itself out. Self Correcting. It will always fluctuate like the stock market.
  15. Even if they got a vote and they approved the use of the nickname UND still would retire the Sioux. Its to far into the process now for the administration. There is no going back.
  16. So far this season we would be 4th in the Big Sky in attendance average even with our "Woes." This even includes Cal Poly and UC Davis. UND would be behind Montana, Montana State, Northern Az (8,765) , and Eastern Washington (8,774). UND (8,154) could easily be third in a few years once the Montana schools start traveling to Grand Forks. I'm not seeing the "woe." UND will average 8,000-11,000 every year while playing in the Alerus Center.
  17. Before the Alerus: 1998: 7,692 1999: 7,813 2000: 8,658
  18. Probably just seeing a return to what Sioux football historically averages now that the newness of the Alerus has worn off and we haven't been winning as many games like earlier this decade. We still will be like what? 4-5th in Attendance average in the new Big Sky already? Well maybe not this year. But with quality teams coming in and rivalries being built. We will have nice size crowds at the Alerus.
  19. Has a committee been formed? Its extremely unfortunate it will never be put to a popular vote or should I say its unfortunate that not enough people will protest for a vote.

Keys to winning: Go for a fake punt. Run a reverse. Pitch the ball during a kick return. Run a couple option plays. Have the ball thrown to your QB like the Vikes and get a penalty cause its Illegal!!
  21. Really? $15 is absurd to you? I thought Sioux Football was a steal!!
  22. Cause the coaches knew what we all knew. That one extra point wouldn't matter in the end. I give the coaches credit for putting in a different QB. It was steadily apparent Goska wasn't an accurate thrower from the Lamar game. And here I thought "ooooh something different" finally a chance to try and WIN the game with a fake punt. Turns out the coaches didn't even call it. Someone miss heard or should I say misread the cleveland indians sign the coach was holding. hahahaha
  23. What's with those "weird" signs the coaches hold? Is that something to do with the "no huddle" offense? Also can anyone explain what's up with the odd formations right before they they run into a "normal" formation and kick the extra point? Another coaching gimmick?
  24. Hey coach, your season was over and you ain't playin for nothing... So listen to the fans and go for it on fourth and inches. Your losing the game. Quit being a conservative pantsy and throw the ball downfield or for god sakes at least run another play before halftime. The Odd Makers gave UND a 80% chance to win this game!!! The next two games: 20% chance.
  25. We all know those numbers aren't apples to apples comparison. Take UND Hockey out of those numbers and UND is probably between USD and SDSU. Athletic Budget isn't operating profit. UND could still be losing money every year while its possible USD has a small budget yet is turning a profit.
