No game thread??!! I'm at the game. Real attendance looks about 4,000 at the most. Sadly students have three rows filled.

I don't see them winning out, but even if they did I don't think they make it.

Interesting note. I just downloaded the UND iPhone app. When you check the scores it says "Sioux."

Watching the games online would be quite expensive for me. I Live outside emerado with a dish for tv. Like a lot of people nowadays I don't have a need to spend $50 on Internet at home because I have unlimited data on my phone. But it's not fast enough to stream the games .

That's why the current point system seems to be a nice compromise. You still get something (a point) if you tie, but there is now also a "winner."

Darrell, I'm not the police thread. Dont only single you out, I have pointed out thread drift a lot in my ten plus years on this site. And never cared that much to begin with I was just pointing out as have others how you love bringing up NDSU a lot even when it doesn't relate to UND (like you did today). Maybe cause you live in Fargo? Post it somewhere else or not even post it? The article has nothing to do with siouxsports.com not one ounce, but If I were you I would have put it in the NDSU jokes thread, made up a joke and posted the article there. Or start a thread titled "NDSU Football." If you ask me NDSU fans aren't spoiled per say they just have high standards. They boo even when winning. But they win a lot of championships. Hard to argue with that. UND fans don't even boo when they are getting blown out at home. Maybe if UND football played Fargo University more casual UND football fans would pay attention to how much work UND football needs and put more pressure on the program!?

Hockey and soccer have a decent amount in common as it takes a long time to score. I'm not going to diss soccer as its seems to be the worlds number one sport and one of my best friends loves the sport and is even working his way up the coaching ranks in college in the twin cities. I don't care how it ends shoot out or not, I'm just happy to not have ties anymore. And that I believe is a good thing for the sport. Otherwise to me it's like they didn't even play the game.

Golloday could have also thought "oh shoot they are going afte the ball, I better just drop down to my knees." I don't blame the refs that much. Not like it even mattered in the grand scheme of things...on that pick six I had a great view...on of the und player hit him hard thinking the EWU would fall down and he gave up on the play well as we know he EWU player wanted it more regained composure and ran other fifty yards....that play didn't have to be a near pick six...that was the worse individual effort and consequence I have seen so far this year.

Yup...it's not exactly the same but they also change the game in ot... I guess it would be more like playing ot shorthanded (3x3 or 4x4)....like the d in football is "shorthanded" working with less yards.

But why was it more acceptable to have ties in hockey than football? Cause hockey games took longer on average to break ties? 3x3 whatever. The college game needed/needs to eliminate more ties even in the regular season. Don't believe baseball ends in ties either...,, home run derby would be an awesome way to end that though. I love being entertained.

No ones arguing shootists for playoffs...just something better than a short five on five five minute ot during the regular season that seems to end in a tie anyways more often than not... How about a 5 minute 4x4 then. Shoot out. Either way declare a winner. Can you image if college football ended in a time after five minutes of ot? Why is it more acceptable for college hockey? Sure glad that penn state vs Michigan football game didn't end in a tie....it's almost like college football has its own shoot out. Where does the offense start the opposing teams 35 yard line? Field goal range without even moving a yard!

That thread was in poor taste. But the things talked about it at least pertained to the title....now this thread is comparing non revenue sports competitions? I never read that thread til it was a couple pages long. And I wasn't interested in NDSU jokes...but when this thread jumps to the top I thought it would have been about und and NDSU resuming the game related...instead I had to read how NDSU fans react at their home games! I just didn't see the relevance.

And how does relate to those two teams "resuming the football rivalry?" Or did you miss that part of the thread?

Interesting watching an in-state ACC, Miami at Flordia State, rival on ESPN in the fact that the game at UND would have looked way better on tv as the Betty holds more for volleyball (and filled - for NDSU). Not everyday a UND sports looks better on tv than an ACC team.

Yup the best part was left out. I'll just say Ralph "tested" Chris while in Vegas...lol

Ps. you should her the "urban myth" about how Chris Semrau met Ralph and got his job...it's quit the story.
