  1. Hopefully you didn't try and see Kid Rock in Minot for the State Fair. Show was canceled and the crowd was not happy about it. Rioting Kid Rock fans trash North Dakota State Fair grounds, wild photos show
  2. How is the corm mill any different than Cirrus Aircraft or any of the numerous other Chinese owned companies operating in the U.S.
  3. Those slums? Its only got one pool!
  4. Prices double every 20 to 25 years. So you better buy that $500,000 house cause it'll cost you a million soon!
  5. One of the newer apartments in GF has an indoor and outdoor pool, hot tubs, indoor basketball court, game rooms, theaters, gyms (fitness). And no availability. Gonna need to build a new one. Probably rents for a small mortgage too.
  6. Among other factors. You can read the article yourself. Maybe you missed the part where I wrote "cheaper" as one of the factors. Or maybe you're good at seeing black and white. Either way there's a shift toward more people preferring apartments over houses.
  7. If you say so Sherlock.
  8. Called Plaza 32 by Epic Company out of Fargo.
  9. Yup and commercial on the first floor. Lots of houses being built too. There's a shift of people preferring apartments more nowadays. Cheaper, less commitment, less upkeep. The youtube generation so they can live the #vanlife.
  10. New buildings (houses and businesses) usually get some form of tax break all over the country. You run a successful food trucks no physical taxes to pay. Seems unfair for the guy that rents a building for his restaurant doesn't it? Run a construction company out of your garage and trailers: no tax. Build a showroom and offices: Taxes! A level playing field would be zero taxes just because you want a physical building but we know that ain't gonna happen.
  11. Redhawks games are a fun summer activity. Throw in bonanzaville, Thunder Road, and/or the zoo and you got a full day.
  12. Another trick is snapchat maps. People always uploading concerts and events to "public." But you gotta catch it within 24 hours.
  13. The 6,000 to 8,000 people that will be moving to Grand Forks the next ten years will need jobs. Just like the previous 6,000 that moved from 2010.
  14. "Sorry GF is closed to all new business until unemployment numbers rise."
  15. Which is literally the wage McDonald's is advertising. Edit: $15. I think I saw Hobby Lobby, Menards, Target advertising $18. McDonald's historically is seen as setting the "market minimum wage."
  16. That's a whole nother topic.
  17. Weak businesses don't survive when competition arrives. Competition drives higher wages. If a business cannot afford to keep up maybe they shouldn't be in business.
  18. I like being close to Fargo. Gives more options for area events. I looked it up to see if they had an air show this year so I could possibly go. Not try and berate.
  19. Large brand new house on the south end of town. Not really surprised. Prices keep inflating. People keep paying those prices. These complaints are as old as time. I've been joking with people forever that if there was ever a place in the country with cheap housing it should be here....Cold, Flat, and nobody around. Yet it's not the case.
  20. There's a large company already in Grand Forks that's owned by a Chinese company. Cirrus Aircraft.
  21. Three different locations. Maybe trying to see what works best? Does seem odd. But easy set up for vendors and the stages, schedule conflict?
  22. 94k NDSU Football twitter followers vs 20k for UND Football. Always said they need to build a bigger and better Fargodome.
  23. Actually pretty decent methodology imo.
