  1. Why so many corporations? You see Johnny, grandparents start these companies and grow them. Then their kids inheritant and run it...and then they have kids who inherit the company. And soon there's like eight grandkids who have this company and they ain't attached to it like grandpa and grandma were. So they would rather not have the headache and just enjoy a lump sum of cash at a young age. Valley Dairy Home of Economy How many times has Hugo's had to turn down acquisition? Hornachers ain't owned by Mr. Hornbacher for many years now.
  2. If I was a betting man, "misappropriation of funds" is how I'd bet they got themselves in this mess.
  3. Just skim a little money off each of these megaprojects knowing the next projects investors/banks will pay for this ones shortfall... ?
  4. Bemidji's Super Buffet is pretty good. Might be better than the Panda.
  5. From what I believe is the Bemidji Chamber of Commerce website... That's impressive. Growing faster than Fargo. Surprised I had never heard that.
  6. I heard the boys on the popular Bussin' With The Boys, Sports podcast, say they heard a lot of college athletes nowadays are going to the school and basically saying "how much money are you going to give me" and if they ain't happy with the answer they (threaten to) "enter the portal."

    Gearheads

Cboystv, just a few miles down the road, in Cormorant Lake, outside Detroit Lakes. Has amassed quite the following. A group of young guys, 20ish years old. Multimillionaires from video taping themselves having fun and posting it to YouTube. They, also recently uploaded themselves going to a Nascar race...VIP infield treatment of course. At Talladega...the infield after the race is known as The Boulevard...it's like wefest on steroids. Add it to your bucketlist.

From winning a race in Grand Forks, to qualifying 5th today for thr Indy 500. Kyle Larson is quite the driver. Often being called the country's best.
  9. On second thought the current logo sucks and they picked that one. So maybe UND just always likes the first option?! "No way they'll pick this one!"
  10. He was paid per design and they asked him to possibly do like three or four designs. But they liked the first one. And paid him for that one. Because they didn't need any more. Moral of the story: don't do good work the first go round....or have the contract state you'll present them all at once.
  11. They closed multiple today across the country. Months ago, I had heard them complaining about how they lost money on shrimp fest. Edit: looks like they lost $11 million on endless shrimp and are on the edge of bankruptcy.
  12. People still just gather on the rail and watch the game behind the empty seats. Further creating bottlenecks in the enzones.
  13. Peterson Porch is sold out every game? ...must be to Chaves grandkids right before kickoff every game. Because it's a ghost town!
  14. I'm old enough to remember when people her proclaimed those people who got IRS refunds at the end of the year "shouldn't be proud" because they borrowed the government money interest free. Will UND (a government entity) pay interest for borrowing our money if they don't make the playoffs?!
  15. Fargo residents complaining about all the strip malls...feel like I've heard that before. Valley News Live: Why so many empty strip malls in Fargo
  16. I mean they are called season tickets. It's a dilemma for every game. If it makes anyone feel better. Just pretend the season is just one game longer. If they decide to cancel that last game (cause they didn't make it): You paid $0. That said, I don't like it either. They just give you an entire free season after so many playoff misses? Alerus Center concession vouchers? Menards rebate? Never a fan of mandatory borrowing money.
  17. Went down to the greenway couple weeks ago. First thing I saw was a homeless guy sleeping on a park bench.
  18. Pro Tip: click the filters button to sort by sport.
  19. What am I missing? There's lot of non hockey players on the site. https://www.siouxshop.com/authentics/
  20. Some of us seem to be forgetting that a "collective" isn't some sort of end game. The Red Pepper can still do those things. The collective can help collaborate this if RP needs help and wants a "one stop shop" to make this happen. As the name indicates, a collective, is an opportunity for small players to enter the field. And if anyone wants, they can make another UND collective. Sorta like the SiouxShop.... "supporting NIL"....just not needing call it a "collective"... cause that would be weird. Nomenclature still trying to catch up: "Proud NIL Supporter of UND Athletics"?
  21. This Red River grad is being sued by Elon Musk. Talk about a feather in your cap. Hey Greg, I know a university that could really use a nice size donation to their athletic department.
  22. Does Fordville still put on the hillclimb? If not, does anyone know where the nearest hillclimb is this summer?
  23. And another upcoming comic event:
  24. Not hard to find quality comedy in GF, the town has a long storied tradition of great comics coming to town. This upcoming Friday:
