Keep it open. Its the off season. "These posts" just get moved to other threads anyways. Don't like it. Don't read it.

Does this mean Hakstol hasnt been more than half way to a championship in the NCAAs for a long long time.

Watching college hockey at the Ralph is closer to watching an NHL game (UND averaged higher attendance than the New York Islanders a few years ago and the "NHL talent" is sometimes there) than watching FCS ball compared to the NFL. And thats why UND hockey is the closest thing North Dakota has to a pro team. Not saying college hockey is more popular than FCS football. Probably about equal. Maybe with the slight edge in the northern part of the country leaning toward college hockey. Neither one has a large following. Beating big ten schools and having college gameday twice certainly gives that school more recognition than anything college hockey could. Therefore FCS has a higher potential to put a school on the map.

All he's saying is the top athletes usually don't play FCS ball. But we already knew that.

I didn't think so. My buddy owns a fab shop/cnc machine. Hes made similar smaller ones. Ill have to see if he can make me a bigger one.

Where can I get that Sioux head?
-
When people ask me what the new nickname will be I say Sundogs. (Which I'm kidding) but a few people (girls) said they really liked it and like how it relates to the area. Don't forget someone already registered the und sundog domain name at twamley.

Is the FCS the only "major d1 sport" that doesnt visit the white house? 4 nattys and I havent seen one picture of them there.
-
Can we at least keep the "fighting" part? Remember the kid crying in the basement after finding out there will be no more fighting Sioux? He suggested warriors. Fighting Warriors. End of discussion. As Dagies said..."these kind" of names are worth FIGHTING for!

Dave Hakstol has not won more than two games in a row in the NCAA tournament since about a decade ago.
-
Should have said "catching nike." Nike has a 32 year head start. Longer than under armour has been around. With its first store only opened since 2007. UA growth is about 35% compared to nikes 8%.

Even if they did UND probably wouldn't spend it updating a city owned facility. Maybe this bison run will help some alumni open up there pocket books?!

Put ceiling tiles in the building to get rid of the fugly exposed ceilings. Tile the ugly concrete floors. Put sheetrock over the fugly tin everywhere. Add more windows everywhere possible. Make a club lounge somewhere for fans during halftime.
-
Wouldnt players lounges and a kickass weight room go a lot further for recruites than remodeling a building UND has little control over? If only UND had unlimited amounts of money our "problems" could be solved!

I was able to buy this shirt at the siouxshop. Though a lil pricey at $30.
-
Prices are controlled by supply and demand right? Half the amount of gas in the world is being used or the world started producing twice as much oil in the last three months! Hurray!

I remember when a catch use to be ruled a catch.

I've started to notice quite a few empty seats in the upper rows of the REA. Like a few consecutive rows. Not the oh they bought the tickets but didnt show kind of empty seats....yet the REA announced sellouts.

Like having a video board in your basketball arena.

The team with the most d2 titles is no longer in d2. The team with the most FCS titles is no longer in the FCS.
-
Why do you think teams like Duluth and Mankato are going to the d2 title games now?
-
Actually pretty valid point. Where's Boise State? Minnesota Duluth and Mankato are going to d2 championship games now in football.
-
Granted Youngstown State only won three FCS championships in a row but it was a lot harder in those days.
-
All Hail gfhockey.

The best thing about that doofus is his love of USC (his alma mater). The first day of class at UND he told us, "if USC plays for a national championship in football the final will be optional." The Trojans played for a championship in 2004 and I celebrated one less final to study for.
