Hakstol has a goalie coach in Karl Geohring. Dean Blais never had a goalie coach.

We can only hope he is growing faster than other coaches. Every coach right now is also growing. If only we could freeze time and have only Hakstol "grow."

It's obvious UND sports mean a lot more and are a lot more personal to some people than others. Maybe it's a growing up in Grand Forks AND UND alumni thing.

My 32 year old buddy just had a medical scare with death. I told him dont go dying on me. We still havent watched UND win a championship together. I cant wait to hug him at that game when it eventually happens! Jumping up and down like never before! We were in high school last time UND won a championship and have traveled 4 Times all ending in disappointment.

I always thought it odd Gameday was in Fargo but I couldnt watch there game on tv on any station in minneapolis. Isnt that the point of gameday? At wyoming basketball game on espn right now.

Why is Wyoming vs San Diego St on ESPN 2 right now at Wyoming? Cause they are FBS and more recognizable because of it?

Watching UND win a championship in person is #1 on my bucket list I have yet to accomplish. After the disappointment of St. Louis, Milwaukee, and Columbus. I vowed only to go to championship games and not just Frozen Fours. Has saved me a lot of time and money skipping Denver and Philadelphia. St. Paul was an easy one to watch UND lose again in the semifinals. Watching a full arena of UND fans win a championship was a dream shattered in that beautiful St Paul evening (and not even to the eventual champs.)

Memories of being and witnessing a championship in person with my best friends will last a lifetime. More I can get of those the better. I wont remember the "oh we competed. Theres always next year."

Dave Hakstol has only won his conferences regular season title twice in a decade. Could gfhockey do bettet?

Id hope we would have higher expectations than winning more games than you lose in ten years. We aint UMD.

Does this mean Hakstol hasnt been more than half way to a championship in the NCAAs for a long long time.

Watching college hockey at the Ralph is closer to watching an NHL game (UND averaged higher attendance than the New York Islanders a few years ago and the "NHL talent" is sometimes there) than watching FCS ball compared to the NFL. And thats why UND hockey is the closest thing North Dakota has to a pro team. Not saying college hockey is more popular than FCS football. Probably about equal. Maybe with the slight edge in the northern part of the country leaning toward college hockey. Neither one has a large following. Beating big ten schools and having college gameday twice certainly gives that school more recognition than anything college hockey could. Therefore FCS has a higher potential to put a school on the map.

All he's saying is the top athletes usually don't play FCS ball. But we already knew that.

I didn't think so. My buddy owns a fab shop/cnc machine. Hes made similar smaller ones. Ill have to see if he can make me a bigger one.

Is the FCS the only "major d1 sport" that doesnt visit the white house? 4 nattys and I havent seen one picture of them there.

Can we at least keep the "fighting" part? Remember the kid crying in the basement after finding out there will be no more fighting Sioux? He suggested warriors. Fighting Warriors. End of discussion. As Dagies said..."these kind" of names are worth FIGHTING for!
