Nice. Thanks to the ladies (BB and Hockey) for winning today to make up for a dismal Saturday by the men (FB and Hockey).

Program support? Like a dome in a northern climate? New locker room facilities? Indoor practice facility? Or most importantly, fans who still care (as evidenced by the passion in this thread).

My comment is not about Sparks, but Mussman.
-
He couldn't skate (push off) in third at all.
-
Great strategy: play Sparks in first and last games only. Great strategy to get canned.
-
http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/278366/ Faison with a no comment, not a vote of confidence statement. Mussman's statements seemed resigned to the impending obvious. Tock. UND 2.0

A weekend to meet with Northern California alumni would be a reasonable guess, as would a final in-person evaluation of their football product's status.

Somebody please tell me that when the plane lands in GF later that Muss is playing "Lane Kiffin" to Faison's "Pat Hayden". UND 2.0

Last time I called out the predictability of Hak's team (RW 5x5 zone entries, etc.). This time I'm calling out the complete lack of spontaneous play. Everything is shoveled back to the D, in every zone, where they settle it down, look around and allow the opponent to set up their trap or defense in front of the net. How about a forward actually picking up a a puck and bringing it out of the zone before the opponent can set up their trap at neutral? I wish I had a dollar for every time I saw a UND center push the puck back to Simpson, et al, in the defensive zone tonight when they had a lane to carry it out themselves. Offensively, how about a one-timer from the points in the offensive zone? Nope, slide it back and the defense holds it so the opponent can stack the goalie, both D, all three forwards, a couple water bottles, their mascot, and heck, even the team bus in front of the net to block a shot. I just once want to see a one-timer ... and our forwards ready to snap off a shot on a rebound. Finally, I'm seeing guys in front turning to get to their forehands on rebounds. It's call a BACKHANDER and goalies don't like them. Both 9 and 29 had first period opportunities they wasted by not snapping off the backhanders and instead turning (wasting time) to the forehand (and allowing defenders to get there and prevent the shot). This slow, ponderous play isn't generating offense, and it gave up a bunch of goals tonight to a team playing quick.

As far as buying out Muss, I could probably tell the crowd at a UND Hockey game that night's 50/50 raffle was to buy him out and take care of it.
-
I'd have believed you until: (a) Tom Miller of the Herald said he thinks Muss is gone (on Monday), and (b) I could have brought close to 10,000 friends to the UNC @ UND game* *Empty seats equal no ticket sales, no parking revenue, no concessions. Those last two impact not just UND but the Alerus Center. I'm pretty sure pressure will be brought to bear from those interests. Remember the obvious: It's about the Benjamins.

If we're looking for 5'8" 160 RBs why are we looking outside of North Dakota? They're dime-a-dozen in 9-man. I'm looking for a 5'10" 200 RB with a quick first move and that knocks defenders over.
-
Full search. Best candidate. UND 2.0
-
When the GF newspaper guys are willing to make that statement my advice to Muss is: don't buy green bananas.
-
UND does what UNC did last weekend: give one away one the road. Davis at home scores late due to UND mismanagement, wins by four. (I'll guess the mismanagement to be clock management related, not that that is overtly predictable with this 'coaching' regime.)

If UND and the Summit are such a match made in heaven, where are: - the MVFC invite - the Summit invite - the fiscal analyses showing $(Summit + MVFC) > $(Big Sky) As The Bard said, "Me thinks thou doth protest too much" when it comes to the droning on by Summit fans at this time. As SiouxVolley points out, the Summit is dangerously, precariously, close to losing its autobids in key sports (i.e. MBB). All this noise from the SDSU board, and from the NDSU fans here, comes across to me as the classic marketing/sales technique called "herd mentality" (with the association to NDSU's mascot being a coincidence). "Herd mentality" sales are based claiming "everyone else is doing it" or "get in now before everyone else". Get into WHAT exactly? A conference that didn't take in UND Baseball? An alignment that would've (and still would) put UND FB out in the cold? To me the Summit would have to approach UND with a package that makes it clearly stronger than what UND has today in the Big Sky ... and I don't see that happening because the Summit can't produce that.

Nary a better summary of this ever written.
-
To Cratter's point, that's why I keep saying "complete reboot". UND 2.0
-
It can only be used one weekend per year, and this was it. Heck, NDSU didn't sell out Fargodome this weekend (18076 and they had over 19000 at their homecoming). Deer opener is a defacto holiday weekend in this region. Schools would be smart to schedule road games deer opener weekend.

UND won Saturday despite their coaching. The blocked FG going the other way because UND didn't play to the whistle shows me a team that has not been coached up. UND won, because Northern Colorado gave the game away with a late fumble.
-
I knew Colorado College was a little ... different ... but this you have to read for yourself: http://denver.cbslocal.com/2013/11/08/colorado-college-job-application-features-the-word-queer/ So which hockey team are they sending to play in Grand Forks: Mens, Womens, Transgendered, or Queer?
-
Two words for you Volley: Deer Opener.
-
And they fumble. Two bad teams.
-
Defensive off sides for first down for them.
-
And his second pick today.
