  1. That requirement was one mandated by the prior regime. I believe Bubba requires walking the walk before talking the talk.
  2. All he does is intercept touchdowns?
  3. For one play, yes.
  4. A guy can dream, can't he?
  5. The video boards at The Al are surrounded by fixed advertising. If all that space could be video board ... Expensive? Yes, ... but if the existing boards could be sold to The Betty ...
  6. Vernon Adams - EWU - 6'0" Jordan Johnson - Montana - 6'1" DeNarius McGhee - Montana State - 6'1" How big they are vertically is important; how big they are between the ears is just as, if not more, important.
  7. Five above the line; five below the line: NCAA poised to create separate voting bloc for SEC, Big Ten, ACC, Pac-12, Big 12 http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ncaa-poised-to-create-separate-division-for-sec--big-ten--acc--pac-12--big-12-212725211.html?soc_src=mediacontentstory
  8. In light of Izzo's tweet, and at risk of repeating myself ...
  9. The guys with their own TV networks (aka lots of money) want to pay "full cost of attendance" (tuition, fees, plus cash stipends) to student athletes.
  10. I can live with Freund staying on, and here's why: The QB coach can only do so much. When your OC is not doing smart play calling the QB is being put into situations that are more difficult than need be. An example is the Portland State game. The (former) OC did not give any consideration to "clock". He kept trying to #chuckthepigskin rather than run the ball once in a while to (a) keep the defense honest, and more importantly (b) keep the clock running with his offense on the field and a 3 point lead. Specifically (from the UND/PSU game, 4th quarter, UND leading 10-0): NORTH DAKOTA drive start at 14:48. 1-10 UND 11 Jake Miller rush for 3 yards to the UND14 (Corey Crowder;Junior Alexis). 2-7 UND 14 Joe Mollberg pass complete to Romon Bridges for 5 yards to the UND19 (J. Shoemaker). 3-2 UND 19 Jake Miller rush for 5 yards to the UND24, 1ST DOWN UND (David Edgerson). R9 Wow, a rushing first down! But then you follow that up with ... 1-10 UND 24 Jake Miller rush for 1 yard to the UND25 (Sadat Sulleyman). 2-9 UND 25 Joe Mollberg pass incomplete to Greg Hardin. 3-9 UND 25 Joe Mollberg pass incomplete to Blair Townsend (Dennis Fite). Followed up by ... 4-9 UND 25 Mitch Meindel punt BLOCKED, recovered by UND Mitch Meindel at UND15 (blocked by MichaelPlummer), Mitch Meindel rush for 3 yards to the UND18. 7 plays, 17 yards, 2:26 I guess I can't hang that onto the QB, or the QB coach. You've been holding onto a 10 point lead most of the game. Their offense has done nothing to this point. Help your defense out; keep them off the field for a couple more minutes by ... #RunTheRockRunTheClock
  11. "bird friendly ... windmills" ... oh, you're killing me <rotflmao> ... and the birds.
  12. Well, most consider western ND, ND's back yard. I was merely pointing that out. (Folks missed it.) We are oil dependent. How to deliver it: train, pipeline, supertanker? Each have pluses and minuses. C'est la vie.
  13. OK. We stop drilling in western ND to preserve that. But we still need electricity and energy. So let's generate that in already blighted areas. So, ... let's build a nuclear reactor in north Minneapolis. Better?
  14. Snow-nami? Blizza-tastrophic? C'mon ... It's January. It's North Dakota. Next question.
  15. A buddy has asked me "14.5". Will the combined wins of UND and NDSU in football in the 2014 season (including playoffs) be over or under 14.5?
  16. Allow me to summarize my expectation quite simply: Time of Possession per Game (2013 all games) Team Team Opponent NDSU 33:40 26:20 UND 28:05 31:55 I'd like to see UND start to win the Time of Possession battle in games. Why? - dictate the tempo - keep the defense off the field When you have the ball you tend to act as the composed team and the opponent tends to go into a scrambling, rushed, error-prone mode when they do get it. Now, how do you do this? Well, first, you need an offensive philosophy that values possession of the ball and thinks about more than down-and-distance, thinks about clock management, during play calling. Then, you need a defense that is angry when the other team has the ball (and will do the nasty things, five and six man blitzes, wrap-up-stand-up-rip-it-out tackles, required to get the ball back).
  17. It's good to be Jon Toews.
  18. I think I just agreed with Fetch.
  19. I'm wondering if UND didn't have a bunch come available in the last couple of weeks also.
  20. Huh? From the admittedly little I've seen they're more a lightning (outside, quick) and thunder (power, tackle to tackle) duo. Then again, I'm used to drizzle and a light mist in the UND backfield lately.
  21. How things are now is how they'll always be, I mean because Michigan has won every NCAA hockey title since the first ever title in 1948 and Florida A&M has won every IAA/FCS title since the first in 1978, right? Packers have won every Super Bowl since Super Bowl I, right?
  22. 1st Rule of UND Hockey injuries: We do not speak of a specific injury to a specific player.
  23. After 3-8, an impending change in offensive and defensive philosophy, and "Dancing with the Stars: Sidelines Edition", is that bad?
  24. We look small in the all black ... or maybe we just were small. Someone needs to come up with a home uniform combination that is telegenic.
