The Cooperstown site takes you through "Oscar-Zero". That was an underground command post and launch center for a bunch of remote "Oscar" silos. (You'd see the signs along ND 200, ND 32, ND 38 for "N-33" or "M-7" or "O-10".) I didn't grow up a mile and a half from Oscar-Zero ("O-0" on the sign out front). It was a different "-0" site just like O-0. Plus, I spent a lot of time at friend's farm just three miles from a different "-0" site. As my dad would say, we're first to know the war is starting ... either way.

What's to say a team gets invited to an existing FBS conference and struggles just as mightily there as any team (even the winner) in an upstart FBS conference?

Huh-who-wha'? If "Team X" is in an FBS BSC (WAC?) it is more than likely a legacy FCS BSC team amongst other legacy FCS BSC teams. That alone means a conference championship is in play. And that same group of teams has played P5 teams tough (if not knocked some off). And in an FBS BSC (WAC?), ten wins should be in play (even with two money games). A bowl game should be also (conference tie ins). So yeah, maybe I'll give you the "Top 25", January bowl game, and "relevant" (whatever that means) as tough to attain. But the rest in an FBS BSC (WAC?) are in play.

In 1943 SV could predict "Allies to win WWII." He could toss in that the US will drop a new type of devastating bomb, a hydrogen bomb, on Tokyo, to break the Japanese will. In 1945 many would point out SV's "hydrogen / Tokyo" was wrong, but miss out on giving credit for predicting the surrender by the Axis powers.

A big part of that play was the QU defenseman that dove to try to break up Ladue's pass. In the process, he took himself out of the play and left Caggiula unattended. I wonder how much it helped that Stetcher and Garteig (the QU goalie) played together in Penticton. I'm pretty sure Troy had "book" on that guy and let the team know all of his tendencies. Then again, "book" included "good passer and puck handler". Ask Boeser about that.
