  1. Who can resist a bird with teeth and lightning coming out of its nether regions.
  2. If you're going to Minot, honestly, I'd say stop at the Grand Forks Scheels and then up to the bookstore and REA. Scheels has the widest selection (and there's obviously more in the GF than Fargo store, and I've been to both). However, there's a couple nice items at the bookstore. The best hats might be at REA.
  3. Was last night glorious? No. But, the folks under the microscope got a chance to plead their case. Would I have preferred it to be less of a spectacle? Yes. But then the accusations of "back room, smoke filled room deals" would be flying about. So which dung display, feces fest, would you rather have splatting about right now: transparency or obfuscation.
  4. Part of the issue is that this situation was left behind by at least one prior administration: When the decision was made to go DI it was clear that a 21 sport department was not sustainable. At that time a former UND Athletics administrator (during the Kupchella tenure) told an assembly of 21 coaches to look around and that in five to ten years about five of them would be gone. Nobody wanted to do what needed to be done. Roll it forward ten years and, well, we're in the process of taking 21 down to 16. Ed Schafer, unlike Kupchella or Kelley, started the process. Now Kennedy is left to deal with the rest of it.
  5. Huh-who-wha...? Or do I really want to know.
  6. Call the Hawk a dove all you want, just as long as what it craps out is W!
  7. Isaiah Diego-Williams Kid (or Play?, I get them confused. )
  8. Um ... yeah ... we'd been meaning to talk to you about that ...
  9. It's a witness protection program thing.
  10. 80% of their losses come from 80% of their schedule ...
  11. Glad to hear you finally took care of that task for all of October ...
  12. Dale's style of play better fit this region (and the available players). I don't wonder what would've happened; I wonder if he wonders ...
  13. Hat? 4-0.
  14. Three 100-yard rushers; none named "Santiago".
  15. Idalski's team doesn't finish on the road. They win Friday and then bail on Saturday against teams they should be closing out. I could accept a road split against a team ranked higher, or even just ranked, but losing the Saturday game at SCSU is a lack of intensity and finish by the team. And I don't want to hear the excuses. If you're good enough to win Friday you must be mature enough to expect more and better on Saturday and be prepared for it. And win again. This season so far: @Mercyhurst: W 3-1, T 1-1 @SCSU: W 1-0, L 3-2 Last season: @SCSU: W 3-0, T 4-4 @Syracuse: W 3-0, L 5-2 @MSUM: W 2-1, T 5-5 @OSU: L 3-1, W 3-2 (this is the same problem in reverse; they thought OSU's season was over and OSU would curl up; the Saturday win was a panicked attempt to salvage their lack of late season intensity, a Friday foul-up, and their season) Last year if that team had swept two of those four series they are in the NCAAs and that's all you need: a shot. The intensity and finish to complete a sweep has to come from the coach. It just hasn't been there with Idalski. <-- There. I said it. Now what. This team got a pass from Twamley last week with the IAC. That's not an opportunity to relax; that's a signal that the expectations are high. Kennedy says he's keeping teams he expects to compete for championships. In hockey that doesn't mean some in-season "cup" or the WWCHA; it means the big one. If we're keeping hockey, I need (not wish, not hope, need) a banner ... a GREEN banner ... in the next five years. PS - I hope the women's team hears about, or even reads this. They need to. They've been coasting. It's time to toughen up.
  16. Hey, the washing machine had a used puck bag in it. The equipment guy missed it in there the last time they washed team equipment. The fact that the puck bag had been in there long enough, wet and dark, to get all moldy is something some bleach and another wash cycle should clear up. Having said that, this is the first good, understandable off-season move by the Blues.
  17. Wait until SV reads Schlossman's Canisius preview to see who is in town this weekend ...
  18. Simple game plan: Come out and destroy any hope Canisius has in the first ten minutes.

  20. Fox Sports North is replaying the match right now.
  21. I'll be wearing the 4-0 hat*. *Bubba's boys are 3-0 and Bub's boys are 1-0 when I wear my Fighting Hawks hat.
  22. Probably the same folks that estimated some of those old Dakota Field crowds back in the day. These days I can believe NDSU attendance numbers.
  23. Is she the one that it sounded like a cannon going off (even on TV)?
  24. I dare any of you to watch one episode of "Legends of Chamberlain Heights" (Comedy Central). Season 1, episode 1, should do. It makes "South Park" feel like "Sesame Street". Run on cable; sure, not OTA, but not PPV (like HBO) either. If LoCH can fly, well, this incident is at worst, at worst, "South Park". --> Yeah, some might have been offended but it's not illegal by any stretch.
