  1. National Collegiate ... nevermind ...
  2. It would be the "Western MAC".
  3. The AAC set off this wave. The MVC is feeling it now. It'll ripple through east to west. I'd expect the Horizon, Summit (and MVFC), Big Sky and WAC to be affected before it's done.
  4. That ain't workin', that's the way you do it.
  5. No. Omron. I never have good results using their stuff.
  6. I call myself a UND graduate and fan.
  7. Better to be a "Mormon" ... than short one "m".
  8. Given the three in bold, could this group also take over administration of the NCHC and share costs?
  9. Say Omaha stays, but the MVC picks off Valpo and UWMilw. You have to assume the Horizon goes after IUPUI and IPFW. That would make the western Summit really have to ponder what some have speculated: West: Montana, Montana State, Idaho, EWU, plus Denver East: UND, NDSU, USD, SDSU, plus Omaha 8 FB / 10 BB. Want a balanced FB schedule? It takes 9, not 8. Option 1: If Wichita State adds FB make them the 9th during their time as FCS. (Stay at 10 for BB.) Option 2: Bite the bullet on Northern Colorado (9 FB). In that case you grab a 12th (BB only) like UMKC or ORU. I'm not sold on NMSU. Based on geography and demographics, they should be in a Texas-centric league.
  10. Montana would lead a western group looking for a home. North Dakota, and it's past relationship with that western group, would lead a eastern group looking for a home. Let's face it: The maps of most NCAA schools show anything west of I-35 and north of I-80 as marked "Do not travel in months ending in R or Y."
  11. Bus the Dakotas; half (or less) the flights.
  12. I'll say it again: If the MVC peels off Omaha (Summit) and Valpo (Horizon) and UWMils (Horizon) the Horizon will go right after IUPUI (Summit) and IPFW (Summit) for backfill. That crushes the Summit.
  13. The MN hockey playing DIIs could go DI ... the same way Omaha did. (Football. Dead. Wrestling. Dead.)
  14. Money's tight, nothin's free; won't somebody come and rescue me?
  15. The MVC basketball schools don't want to cross I-80, but they'd do it for a large enough market (Milwaukee).
  16. It gets the MVC bus trips and the Omaha market (they lost Creighton). It gets Omaha BB out of the Dakotas in January and looking southeast for students.
  17. I could see the MVC taking the three BB only schools and leaving Murray State to the OVC. That would damage the Horizon (Valpo, UWMilw). They'd go right after IUPUI and IPFW. That would kill a damaged (Omaha) Summit.
  18. Omaha to MVC would break a link in the Summit east-west linkage (Omaha and WIU). That could have WIU looking elsewhere (if not folding up shop, see Illinois budget woes).
  19. If the MVC picks off two from the Horizon (Valpo, Milw), I have to think the Horizon puts the eyeball onto IPFW and IUPUI. The MVC can significantly damage the Summit directly (Omaha) or indirectly (via Horizon) in this.
  20. Murray State (OVC), Valpo (Horizon), UW-Milw (Horizon), and Omaha (Summit) ... Sounds like visit four, get three, go to twelve for BB. Murray State makes sense (proximity) to SIU and Evansville; Valpo for Loyola and ISU (red and blue); Milwaukee for Loyola and UNI; Omaha for Drake and UNI.
  21. WAS in 7 NAS in 6 ANA in 5 NYR in 5
  22. Close ... Your first 10 are 8FB/10BB. That's good. I don't see NMSU going FCS; Weber makes 10 FB and that's 9 games (unbalanced). If you could get that first 10 plus two to make 9FB and 12 BB it'd be great (better schedules). How? Easy ... Bring in FB only Wichita State if it starts up FCS and UMKC to be the rest of the sports in that slot. Bring in Oral Bob (a BB only). UMKC/Oral Bob would be the BB travel pair 9FB / 12 BB --> 4 home/4 road FB games: 22 game BB schedule with travel pairs
  23. We could quibble over the word "all", but I'll give it to you: "almost all". But, can we create a budget as defined and outlined? Correction, can we create another ...
  24. I put this out at USCHO also. Call it a "call to action". If someone can show me a fiscally responsible balanced budget for the 2017-2019 state legislative biennium for UND Athletics to: add 13 scholarships to women's sports to meet the demands of the Summit League (UND leaving Big Sky in 2018 to save on travel costs* **) balance the M/W opportunities, be Title IX compliant, after cutting baseball* in spring 2016 (when that team was on the field playing a home game) balance M/W grants in aid, be Title IX complaint, while doing the above (adding 13 women's, dropping 5 men's) cut an additional $1.3 million out of the FY18 annual Athletics baseline budget (after chopping baseball and reallocating grants) and beyond per the funding cuts from the ND Legislature maintain the required sport sponsorship for Summit membership maintain 16 NCAA sports to remain NCAA DI qualified be balanced (no deficit spending, no pushing debt to future budgets) I'd be happy to see it. (Notice all I put on the table is baseball is gone. Please start at the NCAA FY16 report from UND and reallocate from there.) Please send copies to Mark Kennedy and Brian Faison at UND as well.*per 2015-2017 state biennium budget cuts**Summit is all bus travel; Big Sky is all air travel;
  25. They'd have an immediate home in B1G Lax.
