  1. Omaha to MVC would break a link in the Summit east-west linkage (Omaha and WIU). That could have WIU looking elsewhere (if not folding up shop, see Illinois budget woes).
  2. If the MVC picks off two from the Horizon (Valpo, Milw), I have to think the Horizon puts the eyeball onto IPFW and IUPUI. The MVC can significantly damage the Summit directly (Omaha) or indirectly (via Horizon) in this.
  3. Murray State (OVC), Valpo (Horizon), UW-Milw (Horizon), and Omaha (Summit) ... Sounds like visit four, get three, go to twelve for BB. Murray State makes sense (proximity) to SIU and Evansville; Valpo for Loyola and ISU (red and blue); Milwaukee for Loyola and UNI; Omaha for Drake and UNI.
  4. WAS in 7 NAS in 6 ANA in 5 NYR in 5
  5. Close ... Your first 10 are 8FB/10BB. That's good. I don't see NMSU going FCS; Weber makes 10 FB and that's 9 games (unbalanced). If you could get that first 10 plus two to make 9FB and 12 BB it'd be great (better schedules). How? Easy ... Bring in FB only Wichita State if it starts up FCS and UMKC to be the rest of the sports in that slot. Bring in Oral Bob (a BB only). UMKC/Oral Bob would be the BB travel pair 9FB / 12 BB --> 4 home/4 road FB games: 22 game BB schedule with travel pairs
  6. We could quibble over the word "all", but I'll give it to you: "almost all". But, can we create a budget as defined and outlined? Correction, can we create another ...
  7. I put this out at USCHO also. Call it a "call to action". If someone can show me a fiscally responsible balanced budget for the 2017-2019 state legislative biennium for UND Athletics to: add 13 scholarships to women's sports to meet the demands of the Summit League (UND leaving Big Sky in 2018 to save on travel costs* **) balance the M/W opportunities, be Title IX compliant, after cutting baseball* in spring 2016 (when that team was on the field playing a home game) balance M/W grants in aid, be Title IX complaint, while doing the above (adding 13 women's, dropping 5 men's) cut an additional $1.3 million out of the FY18 annual Athletics baseline budget (after chopping baseball and reallocating grants) and beyond per the funding cuts from the ND Legislature maintain the required sport sponsorship for Summit membership maintain 16 NCAA sports to remain NCAA DI qualified be balanced (no deficit spending, no pushing debt to future budgets) I'd be happy to see it. (Notice all I put on the table is baseball is gone. Please start at the NCAA FY16 report from UND and reallocate from there.) Please send copies to Mark Kennedy and Brian Faison at UND as well.*per 2015-2017 state biennium budget cuts**Summit is all bus travel; Big Sky is all air travel;
  8. They'd have an immediate home in B1G Lax.
  9. Dear Mr. Kawaguchi, UND's playoff start in October and run into April. Please plan your obscene scoring outburst accordingly. Signed, UND fans
  10. Visit two; get one; ten teams.
  11. Other NDUS schools affected by the state budget are cutting sports, programs, departments (Dickinson State). Like I've said, I'd like to hear more than just grousing; I'd like to hear the solution provided by the Lamoureux twins.
  12. That gets him a little of both: football and close to home/family. Thanks for the year Elijah. Make a good life.
  13. Best definition I found using "The Google": Players who are recalled to the NHL from their AHL or junior teams when those teams' own seasons end. Since the NHL has no roster limits after the trade deadline, any of these players would be eligible to come into a game, but usually don't unless there are injuries. An example might be Jordan Schmaltz the minute the AHL Chicago Wolves go out. He'll be put on the STL roster for the rest of the season at that point. (They've been bouncing him day-to-day so far.) A better one would be if the AHL SD Gulls go out and they call up Keaton Thompson to the Ducks. (Don't hold your breath.)
  14. And you forgot ... tied for fewest remaining players entering second round.
  15. All it takes is a "hole" like MIN/STL for a seven-shot impact.
  16. I have him at 15: Stafford 2, Keith 1, Toews 2, Parise 3, Oshie 7.
  17. Such is the way of the coaching world. It would not surprise me.
  18. Mentioning co-ops, here's a mess of a map showing ND school districts. https://www.nd.gov/dpi/uploads/171/map.pdf
  19. They should've co-op'd with Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg to be ... the Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg-Central Valley Valiant Patriots. < facepalm > Logo: The MPCG Patriot on the CV horse. They should've called me. I'd give them an invoice for $50k for that.
  20. Too easy: Whatever mojo they had going they blew up with the deadline deal with Arizona.
  21. If UND had done this without that step I'd be terrified. Instead, they brought in Baker Donelson. And the guy leading BD's Title IX resource group? Uh, yeah, ... "proactive", "litigation avoidance" ... as in he does the audit of what you're going to do before you do it because he knows what the auditors from US OCR will come looking for and he makes sure what OCR finds is all legally compliant. https://www.bakerdonelson.com/Baker-Donelson-Launches-Title-IX-Higher-Education-Group
