Home game. Upper left corner. That's why they call it "nationally televised".

More poetry ... from Robert S. Kane: The purple cow I have unfortunately seen. It is as you'd expect: crossed with an aubergine. Standing in a field or laid out on a plate it is as you'd expect: cross, and a mistake.

By request ... THE PURPLE COW by Gelett Burgess (1866-1951) I never saw a Purple Cow, I never hope to see one; But I can tell you, anyhow, I'd rather see than be one.

Interesting way they run things at Summit League member school Western Illinois University. WIU fabricates quotes for their press releases? Nice. http://www.wgem.com/Global/story.asp?S=11767809

Who coaches the team I bolded.

You forgot. I can't remember.

And at one time the thought was "Great Lakes" states. If the Big Ten could get Texas (and the money that would come with) the "Great Lakes" or "contiguous" thing would be gone in a flash.

Remember my mantra: When all is confusing; when nothing makes sense; when up seems down and down seems up ... Stop. Breathe. Rise above and Look down and in at the situation disinterestedly. And then ... Follow the Benjamins. All will become clear.

You're right. Just ask David Gipp and Ron His Horse is Thunder. They're determined to keep their Peoples in a victim mindset and mode, and they're succeeding.

The reservations can't maintain their tribal facilities, even basic services like water treatment plants and schools. And now they should add ice facilities?

There's nothing to fear for, in the end, The Reaper gets it all. But until then, I have a fever, and the only cure is more cowbell.
-
How about we start with something that better fits the economic demographics of the reservations, like basketball. I know that's been brought up (Roebuck) but I'm not sure it ever happened. It wasn't because UND (Roebuck) was unwilling.

FSU is doing so much more than UND ... not. Wow. Eight Seminole students. Eight. Plus three alumni. UND has nearly three times the programs for American Indians than FSU has enrolled Seminole students! http://www.fsu.edu/news/2005/06/17/seminole.support/

I have it on strong authority (someone who's made the trips you describe) that those things have been happening for the last decade plus. At risk of repeating myself ... It takes two to negotiate. The chair on the tribe's side of the table seems to be empty.

I'm glad they did the review. And yes, they have to take the lowest (meets criteria) bid at that point. My guess is that MJ's bid reflected that they were already on campus (having done the NDSU Union work) so they had lower set-up/start-up costs.
-
Some government entities require follow-ups with the bidders when there is a greater than 10% spread in bids to ensure that no group overread or underread the specifications.

UND has twenty-some programs targetted for American Indians. One in five American Indian medical doctors in the US has a UND Med degree. No one else comes close. Short of handing the tribes a blank check, what else (other than better PR about its efforts with a notoriously challenging group to deal with) should UND do?

1. I'm tired of two-goal leads evaporating. Killer! Instinct! 2. Oh, to have had Kristo, Zajac, and Genoway ...

Dear Matt, The mistakes concern me. What comes after the mistakes is what I'm interested in. So far, you've regained some of Coach Hakstol's confidence and trust. Don't let him or your teammates down. And don't let yourself down. You'll win, but you'll have to be willing to battle every day.

We've (OK, I've) covered this already: The next generation UAV is the Reaper. Be sure to read from there down about five more posts for how to use it (and of course the obligatory "what if" problem that every name will have).
