  1. I'm going to have a lot of cool, new, free stuff on the 22nd when the rest of you are gone.
  2. UND Athletes are on tour around the state. Yesterday was Bismarck. Today (Wed, May 18) is Fargo/Moorhead (6:30 pm, Hjemkomst Center) An article on FB's Jake Miller is already in a FB thread. Here's an article on Dan Kristo: http://www.bismarcktribune.com/sports/college/article_fc9e3c64-80fc-11e0-9e85-001cc4c002e0.html
  3. We just needed another "D" project at forward: Davidson Dickin Di Puma
  4. No, that is the label. And it's a label that has been proven more than once to mean not that much. Heck, labels at all levels of football don't mean much. It's what you do, not what you call it. BCS Oklahoma lost to non-BCS Boise State. BCS Michigan lost to FCS Appalachian State.
  5. My thoughts: http://boardsroom.blogspot.com/2011/05/shaping-up-2011-12-sioux-hockey-roster.html
  6. I keep asking: Is the NCAA a state actor? I know past rulings have said "no" (in favor of the NCAA); however, those were before
  7. Yes, it's Jimmy Rodgers. See the uncropped version here.
  8. Layne Sedevie played in the AWHL which merged into the NAHL. He had a nice run in college hockey at Bemidji State. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=67724
  9. The other question that should maybe be asked: Is Ryan Hill returning?
  10. I've long wished for a "half diamond" underpass interchange at 17th Ave S: - access onto southbound I-29 - access from northbound I-29 to 17th Ave (Alerus) With that, folks coming/going to Alerus from the north would use Demers and 42nd and folks coming from the south would use the new interchange. But that won't be it.
  11. Bringing a defenseman, and keeping Gleason at forward where he was surprisingly good, would make a roster with 15 forwards, 8 defensemen, and 3 goalies. And as last year showed, having guys like Marto and Gleason, who can play forward, or defense, or a point on the power play, can be very handy.
  12. Yup, just like the visitor's room at the old DECC.
  13. Iowa is a truncation of Kiowa, a tribe. I've long wondered if Vanderbilt got permission for their moniker from the band Lionel Ritchie was a part of. But the truly salient point is this: Irish: OK; Vandals: OK; Seminoles: OK; Sioux: Not OK. The lack of consistency is glaring.
  14. Good reading: http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/yb/159006501
  15. Wear a camo hat ... then we won't know what you're thinking.
  16. But I'm lazy. Down the middle of the fairway is the shortest walk/cart-ride.
  17. That'll work, but it's pretty complicated. A simpler way to cure a slice (assuming right-handed golfer) is to close your right hand more. When in your stance and looking down at your grip you should see at least two if not three knuckles on the back of your right hand. A lazy (palm to the sky) right hand is the cause of many, many slices. As far as Eids, white pads and simplify your game.
  18. I can't remember which game I was watching but the announcers were saying there's research out there that says shooters perceive white or yellow goalie leg pads to be larger than black pads (when all are identically sized). Hear that Brad?
  19. Seems like he has a "helicopter dad": How a dad with NHL dreams bankrolled a hockey empire

  21. Scott, Scott, Scott, ... you missed the obvious difference between SMU and OSU. SMU, Southern Methodist University, ... Methodists ... Christians ... the liberal-minded NCAA has no problem sanctioning Christian Methodists. But when it comes to a public school ...
  22. What was Trupp's plus/minus when he put up his number? What will Grimaldi's be if he puts up that many points? There's the senior/freshman difference.
  23. At risk of repeating myself: The rumors were true (not surprisingly). And there are just 14 forwards on the roster today (assuming six incoming freshman forwards). So ... the previous question stands, and even more importantly now.
  24. The biggest problems regarding the Sioux moniker don't come from Sioux fans but from ...
