AZSIOUX Posted January 24, 2008 Author Posted January 24, 2008 Does anyone have a link to PCM's coaches show recap on USCHO? I'm not used to navigating those forums. Thanks. its either in the alaska sioux thread or the sioux season thread there but it looks like it hasnt been posted so maybe he didnt do one tonight. heres a guess how it went played tough 120 minutes last weekend...wasnt handed a thing and earned the 4 points..have to keep that momentum into series vs uaa......rylan settled something he had to settle....sioux fans were great, could hear them all game, great to have that type of support on the road and the players feed off it for sure....defense was very good. a couple breakdowns but nothing serious.............phil had another solid weekend overall......have to get ready for uaa as there isnt a easy game in the wcha......they are a tough and gritty team who tied wisconsin last week so take nothing for granted ever caller - obvious question that he/she already has a answer to but wants to hear it from hak for some reason maybe about davidson and how hes been in the lineup or if walski will get a start anytime soon.... ect........... TH brings up the refs and how crappy they are, hak doesnt bite everyones pretty healthy, miller lost some weight from being sick so he is questionable Quote
Sioux2007 Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 For TV this weekend in the Twin Cities (Eagan area) I am seeing a WCHA hockey listing on channel 13 which is KABL....does anyone know if this is the Sioux game? I'm guessing not because our game starts at 7:37pm on Friday, but it's worth a shot. What WCHA games is KABL picking up then? Quote

brianvf Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Don't show this article to Dubay, as he still thinks that the Sioux are a one-line team: http://www.grandforksherald.com/articles/i...1256f23345c53b4 Quote

dagies Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 I, for one, miss the coaches show recaps when they are not available, here or on USCHO. I know Hakstol isn't always the most colorful, but I think he's gotten more open over time. Quote

How the "#1 Rube in Minneapolis" couldn't figure that out shouldn't be a mystery to anyone that actually knows something about the game. That dolt is an embarrassment. The fact that ANYONE likes or (god forbid) respects ANYTHING he says is a source of constant joy for me. But that said ... referencing ANYTHING he has said is kinda scraping the bottom of the barrel in search of negativity about all-things-Goofer isn't it Brian? Shame on you for even mentioning his name in relation to hockey talk! ;-) Quote

Diggler Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Puffy is awesome. His absolute hatred of the Packers is a definite plus. Him having to wear the SCSU tie last weekend was great. Quote

Siouxfan_inDenver Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 im pretty sure our posts on a website forum won't affect the boys this weekend... so sioux sweep! I don't believe in jinx's or that anything that happens on SS.com affects the outcome of games either. I do believe that this Sioux team is starting to hit its stride and will get some big league points this week. Quote
siouxweet Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 have we ever swept the seawolves up here in the new ralph? I think our record their last six games up here is 3-1-2 which I don't belive is any sweeps at the new ralph. time to get one this weekend 4-1, 5-2. Quote
SiouxTupa Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Amazingly, the last time UND swept the Seawolves at the new Ralph (reg season) was 2002-2003! The rest were mostly win/tie situations. A side note looking at the link below...I remember that season, and looking back I feel REALLY bad for them that year! http://www.uscho.com/schedules/team.php/al...3/gender,m.html I think we're due!! If you're or anyone else is in the St.Cloud area the Ultimate Sports Bar is showing both games in the basement reserved for Sioux Fans. Door prizes are given out and it's always fun to watch games with new people. Hope to see many of you there. Pass the word. Quote
darell1976 Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Just a sidenote question why is Alaska Fairbanks now just Alaska?? Quote
farce poobah Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 Just a sidenote question why is Alaska Fairbanks now just Alaska?? They bought an indian reservation in Miami which was originally a casino, then moved the whole university into the casino. Since its no longer in Fairbanks, they had to change the name. And there's already a University of Miami, so that's taken. The only thing left was University of Alaska. But I have a hunch they will be hearing from the NCAA about housing a university on a reservcasino without using a Native American nickname. Either that or they just decided to change the name. Quote

Donald Posted January 25, 2008 Posted January 25, 2008 A surprisingly ignorant (well ... perhaps not soooo surprising) comment on my blog has brought me here to ask that a knowledgeable Sioux fan (perhaps Patrick Miller) explain to the Sioux fanbase the exact reasons why UAA will never be replaced by Bemidji (i.e... How UAA's participation in the WCHA creates TENS OF THOUSANDS of Dollars in revenue that those member schools would otherwise not see and in addition how historically UAA saved those member schools money) I'm hoping that hearing the FACTS from a Sioux fan will lead to an acceptance of reality that my explanation likely wouldn't. PCM? Please? Or perhaps someone else here in touch with reality (sprig; jimdahl)? I bet even Diggler could recite the reality? Quote

I don't think there are a lot of people that have said they are going to kick UAA out of the WCHA. In fact playing UAA in Alaska allows a team to add another game or two to their schedules. I haven't seen a lot of Sioux fans saying lets kick UAA out of the league. Quote
