Fetch
To bring this up But has any college hockey team ever gone undefeated ? & won the Frozen Four ? Does vegas give odds on any such thing ?
Goon
I believe no. I know that Maine lost like one game or something obscene during their 1993 run.

DAR
Ahh come on.....if the Sioux lose less than 10 games on the season that would be a great season. No team is going to go undefeated in this day and age...too much parity

yzerman19
You're correct, sir: Cornell went undefeated back in 1969-1970: 29-0-0. Maine in only lost 1 game (42-1-2) in 1993.

Does that have anything (or everything) to do with Cornell being gift-ranked right up until they lose in the first round of the playoffs? yzerman19
Had we kept Belfour, Hrkac, Joyce, and Kidd for the 1987-1988 season, we might've had a run at it...

Was this one loss against someone like ........ going from a very stale memory here US International (california) and coached by Brad Buetow (sp) just after he got the heave ho from the goofers? Let'sGoHawks!
In 86-87, we also lost a home game to Colorado College in the WCHA playoffs. Back then though, it was a 2-game total goal series and we had whooped them the night before.

Smoggy
To bring this up But has any college hockey team ever gone undefeated ? & won the Frozen Four ? Does vegas give odds on any such thing ? I'm going to be there this weekend. not on single games unless its the stupid bean pot or frozen 4 games. you can bet on future bets (TO WIN NCAA TITLE) though but the sioux will be favored probably so you'll have to drop some coin to win some ya know unless you want to bet on some darkhorses. probably be 2-1 odds which isnt great at all. go to BALLYS, they always have ncaa hockey futures but again it may be a tab bit early for that. fargosioux
Speaking of Vegas, but does anyone know if any of the casinos take bets on college hockey. I'm going to be there this weekend. I was at the MGM a couple weeks ago. They did not, but they thought that Bally's might give odds on college hockey. I never made it over there to check it out. farce poobah
I don't remember. It was a flat game where they just didn't play well. It was totally disgusting. I distinctly remember yelling "we can't lose to a bunch of g** d*** surfers" at the top of my lungs. Not very Christmasy of me. 1986-87 was a year that we started with some big questions. Goaltending for one. Belfour was not the most-highly touted recruit ever, at the time, but was a find if there ever was one. (I'd be interested in the story of how he got to UND if anyone knows it.) Another question mark was the tragic loss of a first-round draft choice in the summer time, following the death of Bemidji's George Pelawa. I only ever saw him on TV at the MN state high school tournament. While he was just about the fastest and biggest guy on skates there, what I was impressed with was his hands and his agility (including several times when he could have laid out a smaller guy but chose not to). RIP. Another question mark was the return of Tony Hrkac. He'd scored 54 points 2 years earlier but had left for the Canadian National Team (National Junior Team?) and was returning. We knew he was talented and great puck skills, but the open questions were commitment and chemistry.

It's been 10 years since I've been to Vegas, but have heard that the Imperial Palace may take wagers on NCAA Hockey. Like I said though, that was a long time ago.
