southpaw Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 game kicks off in 20 minutes. unfortunately, only avaialable live on center ice or through tvu. can team usa's offense actually score goals? will frazee get the start and then let in 30 goals? will toews get injured again? and for those who hate brian lee... will he get kicked off the team during the first period?
Goon Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 They just had a really nice piece on Lee and Toews being team mates at the University of North Dakota, it was pretty sweet. Funny how TSN doesn't have any trouble showing our logo.
sprig Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 The US needs 2 or 3 points from this game, or they'll be in a next to impossible position to finish in the top 3. They get Sweden last in the pool play, and they played well enough to beat Canada yesterday.

We'll find out in a few minutes now. 2. He could get the start, but he may not allow 30 goals. 3. I freakin hope not. 4. No, the haters won't get their wish.
sprig Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Zatcoff (sp) back in net. On another note, the TVU WJC channel has not shown up. Anyone getting it?
Cardinal Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 For me, channel 40224 is the only thing appearing, and that's for the Canada/Sweden game yesterday.
sprig Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 For me, channel 40224 is the only thing appearing, and that's for the Canada/Sweden game yesterday. Maybe TSN has cut off streams for TVU, similar to their own broadband stream that allows connections from within Canada only. Should have driven to Estevan, Sask today to watch in a bar.
redwing77 Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 2 man advantage for USA. Good news for USA because it took this second penalty for them to even get a SOG on the powerplay.
sprig Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Video should work. It's in French though. Good find, and my Canadian audio stream matches the French video exactly.
southpaw Posted December 27, 2006 Author Posted December 27, 2006 canada scores... not sure who, i can't understand french.
Goon Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 canada scores... not sure who, i can't understand french. Steve Downie the player that Johnson elbowed last season in Vancover. The TSN announcers called it a phantom elbow. There is some discussion whether Johnson actually elbowed him.
brianvf Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Nice find Dirty. And I tune in just in time to see Downie score for Canada. Cmon USA!
sappysieve Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 canada scores... not sure who, i can't understand french. Sounded like a two on one and Jack Johnson got beat to the net.
redwing77 Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Sounded like a two on one and Jack Johnson got beat to the net. It was a two on one with Downie and Cogliano. Johnson got beat? It wasn't Lee? Anyways, A TON of kneeing going on.
redwing77 Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 2-0 Canada. Pyatt. Team USA not looking good.
sprig Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 USA not looking good as it is 2-0 Canada. A two man Canadian screen on the point shot. The US defensemen were out of the way not screening, and not clearing the front of the net.
sappysieve Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 The Canucks sound like they are really fired up. Sounds like Gerbe got robbed of one towards the end of the first though.
redwing77 Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 So can Team USA turn this around? I mean, it is so plainly obvious how well Team Canada plays as a team and just as obvious how poorly Team USA plays as a team. They aren't physical, they're coasting instead of trying hard (I mean, they lost to Germany and that should tick them off. They go on to play Canada, Team USA's archrival (if it isn't the Gophers ) and that should fire them up, but it apparently isn't)... They need to step it up and start playing good hockey. NOW. Right now, if both sides play the way they are currently playing, Canada wins at least 6-0.
southpaw Posted December 27, 2006 Author Posted December 27, 2006 toews puts one in on the pp... 3- 0 canada.
