  1. 'sup fellas ... hope you guys take it easy on us this weekend ... j/k, gopher sweep!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. He had quotes before being drafted about deciding about where he'd play in 2011 after the Draft, so it seems like he was a little up in the air prior to being drafted. I'm guessing he's not a school guy, like you said.

  5. Not coming over here to flame since I've been at least understanding of this move unlike many opposing fans, but wanted to see what Sioux fans thought of Blais' comments back in March about the BTHC and how, IMO, silly those look now since this new league is essentially doing the same thing. http://www.omaha.com/article/20110321/MAVS/703219805
  6. From an outsider's perspective, the only team on paper I would say is ahead of UND heading into next fall at this point is DU. If a few of the freshmen forwards are as legit as advertised and Simpson + Forbort can take decent-sized steps, I think you guys will be in fine shape. Might not be "as pretty" as things were last year from start to finish for the most part, but I'd be surprised if UND falls off too much come next season.
  7. You have a right to your opinion, and I respect that ... but if you believe everything you read -- particularly when it comes to the Kristo story -- then I think you're hiding your head in the sand. Talented kid but he has big issues with alcohol ... hopefully this helps him get his head on straight since he's got as good of mits as anyone in the league. Good luck to your squad this w...

  8. Cool, thank makes a lot of sense then.
  9. Not doubting you, but Osieki coached defense at Wisconsin, so not sure I understand why him leaving would have that big of an impact on a forward recruit...
  10. I assumed DHG would call in, but I had no idea what we was going to bring up outside of being happy his squad made the Frozen Four, so there was nothing "pre-planned" in terms of the content of his call, etc.
  11. FWIW, Michaelson is listed at 6', 180 lbs ... as a 2012 recruit (and thus a fair amount of time to fill out), he's not a monster, but I would classify him as "smaller."
  12. Anderson and Shepherd are the refs.
  13. Lucia said today that Budish will probably play with Schroeder and Cepis.
  14. That was me on KFAN, yes. Schroeder and Cepis played with Patrick White last weekend but Lucia didn't sound thrilled with that line's five-on-five play, so he may juggle their linemate around this weekend. Second line of Hoeffel - Carman - Larson should stay together I'd assume since they scored twice on Saturday ... Carman and Hoeffel are playing pretty well together and, five-on-five, are carrying the play more than Schroeder's line, or at least they did last weekend.
  15. I've ruffled some feathers on here before, more just to get some folks going than anything since both sides have people that go way over the top when it comes to this rivalry, but in the end I -- as I said with PA today -- like how the Sioux do things most of the time and respect their program. My Gopher-love will come through at times, but in the end I try to objective most of the time. Thanks for the kind words.
  16. Yeah, he has a high-ankle sprain and will miss six-to-eight weeks, starting from the Jan. 2 game vs. Bowling Green.
  17. No sand-bagging here ... as somebody who's watched this team go downhill for the last 2.5 years, I'm realistic at this point.
  18. There's a big difference between practice and a game when it comes to getting used to the size of the ice surface, especially when UND has only played two games this season on big ice, and those were back in October.
  19. As others have said, the Gophers have played nobodies in recent weeks and haven't been too impressive in putting up wins. In terms of RPI, Michigan Tech (52), Bowling Green (53), and Harvard (56) are all near the bottom in terms of the 58 D-I teams. Conversely, the Gophers are 3-9-1 against teams with a winning record and have been brutal at home, particularly in the first game of series. If you guys can get to three goals, you have a great shot at winning. Not sure if the big ice will take some getting used to, but the bottom line is that the Gophers cannot score goals even against bad teams, let alone good teams like UND, so unless Eidsness gives up a softie or two, I don't see how UND heads home with less than three points.
  20. Nobody is very fired up for the season on GPL so I figured I'd come over here and see what was going on ... glad to see things haven't changed.
  21. So, just to be clear, reading another team's board is equivalent to posting a thread about another team on one's own board. Gotcha.
  22. Good reply to a valid point / post. Par for the course I guess...
  23. How many national title rings have those Shattuck recruits for UND received since Zach Parise joined showed up in Grand Forks? Because I know of one former Shattuck player for the Gophers that has more title rings than all of them combined.
  24. Strange to see a Gopher-related thread on here with the facts misrepresented, though the original post might be a Gopher fan ... regardless, nobody affiliated with the Gophers has said anything about Conboy or their desire to bring him in here. It's all conjecture by the Strib reporter. As I said on GPL, I'd have zero problem bringing him to the U if the circumstances were right, but it's very unlikely that happens for many reasons.
