CoteauRinkRat Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Last night's intermission on CBC, Cherry did his annual interview with the projected top draft picks. Included Toews, Kessel, Johnson, Staal, and French-speaking Quebec player (didn't understand the name). I always enjoy it during the playoffs when Cherry interviews the top potential draft picks. Did you notice how Toews said, "My team was the U. of ND"? Quote

sprig Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 See my earlier post on the subject. The Frenchie was Brassard Hadn't looked here for a day, and when I looked, didn't see it, since it was already a page back. Thought you'd be watching CBC, looked for the one move , then posted myself I should add that Johnson seemed like a confident, poised youngster also. It will be impossible to believe that he won't be offered the rookie max after being drafted, expecially at #1. Guess we'll see if it's his lifelong dream to be a Gopher, in spite of the money and the chance at getting to the big show very young. Quote

Too bad that, at most, he's a one year wonder with the Gophers because he would have Captain written all over him if he stayed. Quite possibly Captain at Sophomore, but... that's pure speculation. Siouxmama Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 I'm feeling for him right now. That HAS to suck. BUT...Oilers just scored on a power play. Quote
kfah1 Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Is that 2 assists by Greene That's one way of looking at it... Seems reminiscent (sp) of the Sioux 2004-2005 season, crummy penalties? Oh well, like Siouxmama already stated, Oilers goal! 2-2 Quote
kfah1 Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Is it me or are the Sioux well represented (Greene-2/Commodore-1) in the penalty box in the first period tonight?! Quote
Siouxmama Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Now Commie gets a assist for Edmonton That goal was a 4 on 4 wasnt it? Quote
Siouxmama Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Can anybody tell me why NHL referees are not required to wear helmets, since they have made that a requirement for players. Quote
Sioux-cia Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Oooo baby!! Those final minutes were crazy!!! I'm exhausted!!! OT! Quote
Siouxmama Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Man Commodore has really elevated his play Tha announcer made the comment that he thought Commie is the most improved D-man in the nhl. Quote
redwing77 Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Well, that was entertaining, even though it was Carolina screwed the pooch big time. Why? Because I owe my brother $20. I said Canes in 5 and they BLEW IT! PARISE DANG IT!!!! Quote
Sioux-cia Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Holy Crap!!!! Could it have been any better for Pasani!! The puck hits him in the chest, falls at his feet and it's break away time!!!! Quote

Sioux-cia Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Pisani is a former collegian... Hockey East (Providence?) Yep, four years at Providence. (That was very sweet of you, correcting my spelling without pointing a big ol' finger at me and saying "STUUUPID! ) Quote
Smoggy Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Can anybody tell me why NHL referees are not required to wear helmets, since they have made that a requirement for players. I believe they were grandfathered just like the players were. Though the refs were required later. Quote
andtheHomeoftheSIOUX!! Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Can anybody tell me why NHL referees are not required to wear helmets, since they have made that a requirement for players. If I am not mistaken it is because the ref(s) in question were "grandfathered in" from the days when they were not required to where helmets. Quote
andtheHomeoftheSIOUX!! Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 Hey Smoggy! We both answered the same question at about the same time. How about that. Quote
