Oxbow6 Posted July 7 Posted July 7 ....and Pulisic goes off injured. To say his World Cup was underwhelming would be an understatement. 1 Quote
LuvHockey Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Looks like we are short a full D core plus a decent goalie plus a premier striker up front. Other than that it’s a “good” team! Quote

cberkas Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Not surprised they lost with how easy the group was and favorable draw in the round of 32 this was expected. I personally would have liked them to be is a tougher group to better prepare them for the knockout rounds. US Soccer needs to follow what USA Hockey does with NTDP. They do have MLS Next and thanks to Beckham, MLS teams have academy teams like they do in England/Europe. Use a NTDP model to build the U23 Olympic team that would feed the World Cup team. One problem US Soccer has is the best players end up in other sports, like Chad Johnson and Pat McAfee both going to the NFL. Quote

LuvHockey Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Pretty controversial call to block a 0-3 Egyptian score and lead. But even so- impressive to get 3 when needed! What a comeback. What a game! 1 Quote
LuvHockey Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Man I hate shootouts (in hockey). But after watching a 120+ minute 0-0 soccer game it’s a welcome relief to see some scoring. Quote

cberkas Posted Saturday at 11:03 PM Posted Saturday at 11:03 PM If I was a ref and saw, you rolling on the ground, I just start carding you. First player on the team gets a yellow than anyone else on the team gets a red. Quote
LuvHockey Posted Saturday at 11:08 PM Posted Saturday at 11:08 PM Soccer needs to adopt hockey type penalty: time off field for foul. hockey needs to adopt “red card” option for multi penalty actions. Both need to stop embellishing- soccer especially!! Quote
