Bummer that the nearest games are a long travel away.

Oh well, TV will help me understand what's going on. (1)

(1) will confess to being a fan of Crystal Palace, these past 16 years.  The images/videos of their fans singing outside Lloyds of London to save their club caught my eye.

Seen ticket prices and they are pretty expensive.

They seem to be dropping a little bit. Looks like we’ll be able to get in for under $300/ticket.

I saw a short video someone talking about the Olympics and how it was $5000 for a not popular sport.

Buddy of mine is going to Boston for a match. 1000 bucks apiece for his tickets and he has 4 in his family. Absolutely ridiculous

Excellent first half for USA.

Easy to forget how many of Team USA are now playing at the top-tier clubs of Europe.  (IOW, this is not the '94 team.)

EDIT: 4-1 final.  Nice start on points and on goal difference.

They couldn’t have asked for a better start. Balogun’s second goal and Reyna’s Trivela were gorgeous. Expectations skyrocketed last night.

Soccer not our thing but enjoyed figuring it out more. Kinda like boot hockey but on the pitch. They dominated, especially the 1st half. Was Paraguay an easy draw?

FIFA rankings (before the game, approx): USA 17, Paraguay 41.  So a USA win wasn't a surprise.  But USA scoring 3 in 1H was a surprise to most, given Paraguay had the #2 defensive (GA) record in South America qualifying.

Give credit to USA coach Pochettino, an Argentine by birth, who found the mismatches and exploited them.

US should get out of the group (very easy group). The US might get out of the round of 32, but not the round of 16.
