After Wisconsin got the Cornell goalie, Colby feeling like Wisconsin will be in DC.

That's a bold prediction for a team that need games to go their way, or they would have missed the NCAAs last season

Is that prediction really that bold?  I'd say Wisconsin proved they were right where they belonged in the frozen four this year.  I can't see any reason they'd have an expectation less than being there again.

I'd agree not very bold. If they don't go through that bad spurt after new years they would have been thought of as a top 5 team going into the tourney

ASU has let go of assistant coach Dana Borges and hired Jimmy Mullin.

With what I heard yesterday it sounded like Powers was gone.

Extensions apparently are the kiss of death.

The needed a lucky bounce and Michigan State to !@#$ the bed in the bed to make the Frozen Four. They also needed to have all the conference championship games to go their way which luckily they did or they would have been out. Saying the Cornell goalie is going to get them to the Frozen Four, when he got lit up by Denver and has to beat out the goalie that got them there last year.

Colby is basically writing off the Boston schools, Michigan schools, Minnesota, the NCHC top teams from making it to DC. It would be like me saying UND is making it to DC, when I’m not even sure the make the NCAAs.

Have to respect Minnesota only having 3 captains (1C and 2A's). How it should be.

Article on Littler's move to ASU:

https://valleysunhockey.substack.com/p/cade-littler-is-betting-on-himself

Quote

“Cade’s 21 years old, he’s a young man,” Bliss said. “Coach Powers has always believed in Cade and I think that’s what he’s looking for right now is a chance to take a bigger role. I think he has a big chip on his shoulder right now.”

Quote

“I wanted to do more,” Littler said. “To have the opportunity to be out there more. But I also think, for me, points is not everything. That’s not really my game. I impact the game in a lot of other ways than just points. It’s more like, how much can you impact the game in other ways?”

“Anytime a player transfers I feel like there’s probably a chip on their shoulder,” Littler said. “But I also think it kind of matches up with ASU too, with how their season went last year. When I was down there you could definitely tell he (Powers) had a chip on his shoulder. I think it’s kind of mutual.”

I have no doubt that Littler will get more playing time and chances, especially with how decimated ASU's roster got in the portal and with pro signings.
They'll be an interesting team to watch this upcoming year.  They have good incoming freshman (Woo, Willson, and Sawchyn should contribute nicely) but I just can't see them keeping up with the likes of UND, DU, WMU, and UMD next season.  I'd be shocked if they got home ice for the playoffs.

Not to derail, but will be interesting to see where Lucius signs

Is it just me or does this feel a knee jerk response to not playing in the Frozen Four? These are young guys and feels like a lot of these transfers are emotional decisions being made a few days after something didn't go their way.  I guess I don't get what Cade was expecting when he came to UND, to be a top 6 guy?  And I want to say, I'm a massive Cade Littler fan, hope he has all the success in the world when he's not playing UND.

Agree that it seems a little knee jerk reaction-ish.  Would have loved to see Littler in that game against Bucky because it seemed we had little or no net front presence.  Loved his line when he played with Croal and Young.  Those guys really brought the grit back into Sioux hockey; hated seeing Littler leave for ASU but good luck to him.  Lord knows the Sun Devils need some sandpaper in their game.

Agreed on it being a knee jerk response.
He'll get more minutes at ASU, but I'm guessing pretty marginal...maybe 2-3 more min/game?
He wouldn't have been top 6 next season at UND, but there's probably only a couple NCHC schools where he would be at this point in his development.
Wish he would have stuck around, but best of luck to him when he's not playing UND.
