F'n Hawks Posted Friday at 08:14 PM Posted Friday at 08:14 PM Will be interesting to see what happens. Does Gordie just get promoted? Does Schmidt have a connection from his time with DeBoer that he likes? 2 2 Quote

F'n Hawks Posted Friday at 08:26 PM Posted Friday at 08:26 PM The timing of this isn’t great with the portal opening today. On the offensive side, we need 2 or 3 portal guys at WR, and probably one at RB. The spring portal is an option too, that is when Leigh signed I believe. It would preferable to get them in for spring ball though. Quote
UND-SPORTS-FAN Posted Friday at 08:28 PM Posted Friday at 08:28 PM I’m hearing that Danny was in Grand Forks over the new years.. and has been in constant communication with Schmidt.. it’s a two horse race Gordie v Danny. Also remember Danny recruited Jerry.. 2 Quote
shep Posted Friday at 08:30 PM Posted Friday at 08:30 PM Gonna miss him. He is going to make a difference in recruiting. If Jerry continues to toss bombs to a different zip code next year, I assume that even the staunch critics will see where the real problem was. 1 Quote

Right now we on track… Also, FYI, there is no spring portal in 2026. The NCAA eliminated the spring transfer portal window for college football, moving to a single, shorter window in January (Jan. 2-16 for most) to increase roster stability. 2 Quote

Dustin Posted Friday at 08:36 PM Posted Friday at 08:36 PM I'm gonna throw out a conspiracy theory - Jerry announced his plans to return once he knew Fruechte was leaving and said he wanted to play for Danny, since he was recruited by him, so Schmidt is bringing Danny back. 3 Quote

forksandspoons Posted Friday at 08:38 PM Posted Friday at 08:38 PM How much does Schleusner make? Maybe he wants to be closer to home? Schmidt has a ton of connections, so I’m excited to see who he brings in! 2 Quote

His NFL scout team locker room stories I am sure are epic. I heard he once carried Stefon Diggs's water bottle and at Detroit sniffed Golden Tate's jock strap for good luck, such a team player. His 1 TD pass reception per every 12.66 games was Big Time Big Ten Football. Maybe most impressive was this past year driving a promising offense right into the ground with no remorse or responsibility. Later Big Time Ike!! 3 1 Quote

He will stick with Eck and make a good career out of it. 1 Quote

Sure, they probably pay more, but I wouldn’t put it past Schmidt to get Chaves to pony up. Plus, Albuquerque isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, especially when your family is in the Midwest. 2 Quote

Ya, the current Lobo staff is potentially 1 or 2 seasons away from taking a big jump into a major FBS program. 2 Quote
