I have a feeling Berry will announce some recruits pretty quick to try and take some of the heat off.  We have seen you can have good recruits but if they aren’t being used correctly, or used period, it doesn’t matter.

Can't get all of em of course, but you should be able to get 5 at least. Many will still sign pro deals to go straight from junior to pro, but some will end up in the NCAA most certainly. All of these guys are mildly aware of what North Dakota Hockey is (or was), should be fairly easy recruiting if the UND coaching staff (much of which is Western Canadian) uses their connections & actually tries to get some of these dudes. Josh Zakreski is a good start, but he cannot be the only one. Go after all of the talented O and Q guys, just not confident they'd wanna go even further away from their region. Ryan Roobroeck (late 2007, Niagara, 2026 Draft eligible) would be a nice get out of the O.

Kane Barch is Canadian, has played all of his minor hockey there. Uses his Texas birthplace from when his dad Krys Barch was playing for the Stars in order to loophole his way into being eligible for the NTDP/USA Hockey just like EJ Emery has.

Would be a dream recruit, just slightly below Jake Sanderson at the same age. I bet he signs days after being drafted, unless a team like the Bruins (who love having prospects play NCAA) tells him to go to university for a year or two.

So is Zac Zimmerman a possible recruit? Fargo/Moorhead kid. Sophomore currently. Reading through GPL someone saw him Thursday at scheels and he was wearing a UND shirt.

Well he’s a Fargo kid…I saw him play a ton. Not sure his skating is there…looks shorter than he’s listed. In the ozone he’s lethal though. Would like to see how he translates to the ushl or Dub

Again this is where the NIL $ starts to be really, really important...Gavin McKenna has nothing to prove in the WHL anymore.  Playing vs men in college hockey for a year with a nice fat pay check on his way to the #1 draft pick sounds pretty good...hanging around a college campus instead of in a basement in Medicine Hat sounds pretty good too...putting on 15 pounds of muscle so there is zero doubt that his next stop is the NHL also sounds pretty good....

good player.  4.25 star from neutral zone (for what its worth).  lots of nice scouting reports.  Passed the eye test in Minny State.  Like all the local kids, the big question is once they get into the bigger pond, do they rise or are they already at the top of their game.  If I'm recruiting, I am watching a ton of film on him and watching him closely at USA camp...I don't think he is a no brainer chippa, but he is a possible chippa that just hasn't seen the ocean....

Everyone is focusing on Transfer portal/NIL, and now are adding trying to get players from the CHL. What I propose is we start a pipeline of Russian players coming to UND, mayor Bochenski may still have some ties over there to help. The rest of the NCAA will never see it coming.

This kid is the real deal. Here are his numbers at Moorhead in his freshman & sophomore seasons:

27 GP  15-29-44
31 GP  32-46-78

If he replicated his sophomore numbers next year, he would be close to the all-time scoring record in Moorhead as a junior.

Here were his numbers in the HS Elite league last year after his freshman season:

19 GP    12-9-21

I really hope Dane can land him.

Need to see some more workload at the next level before offering.

Kid is an older sophomore, looks like he’s 22 and probably done growing. 

I’d want to see how he does against better talent or a year in the USHL.
