Spelling of those names could be a challenge for any team.

Both are very good players.  I like Boumedienne's ceiling a lot.  Holowaychuk is small and speedy.  Reid Nicol plays Sioux hockey.  His little brother might be an exceptional status guy too....They are from Brandon, MB

This was a who's who team from Western Canada (plus an American) last summer at the big WSI.  Lotta guys who went high in the WHL draft following the tourney.

Landing Reid would be worth it just for a shot at his little brother (Reid is a great player too though)

I see Logan Lutner isn't committed to Denver anymore and playing in Madison next season. I don't think this was overly surprising after they landed Rudolph, Lin and Fiddler all right shot D.

I don't have a link but see he isn't listed to Denver on Elite Prospects and Heisenberg doesn't list him as a Denver commit either.

Madison's news release about him going there for 2026-27 still listed him as a Denver commit

Parker Deraney, 5’10 174lbs D from Detroit Lakes, was selected to play on the 2026 U17 Select Team and will play in the U 17 Four Nations Tournament next month in Czechia. He had signed to play this year with the Penticton Vees.  
His Dad is originally from Grand Forks. Family are all big UND hockey fans.

I like his game.  I think he would've probably gotten a 40-man invite to NTDP tryout if he hadn't previously committed to the Vees.  He plays a steady two-way game, plays bigger than his height weight stats.

Anyone know much about Ethan Sung? I've heard his name tied to UND through some young guys that skate with him in the summer.

Fast. Very undersized.  Pretty good skill.  Def projects D1, but not sure if that is blueblood D1.

One of the better skaters I saw from a pretty good group with Shattuck, but yes, undersized and physically can't handle the bigger d men in the corners.

Growing trend of some pretty good talent in the SoCal area that grow up with the Jr. Kings and then find the elite places like Shattuck.  Reminded me of another California Kid, Cooper Soller.  Can't imagine we are too far away from UCLA or USC adding to the B1G hockey group with more and more players from that place in the world.

The USHL expansion will further that initiative.  Youth hockey in SoCal has produced quite a few good players.  They just tend to lose them at 14.

Agreed. Ridiculously high IQ but very very short. Stocky but again, very short. He’s always been a top pt producer at the 09 birth year, but has gotten looked over due to his height. I think he’d be a great get, similar to Swanson. Offensive dynamo that will almost certainly be a 4 year guy (maybe 5  )

Coached him for a couple years in youth, takes over games. His youth coach at USA Hockey camp said he was their top player (split squads). Can drive offense really well. Really nice skater.

Ellingson has impressed me in limited viewings.  He is another kid that I think would've had a look at the NTDP if he hadn't committed to the WHL pre-draft.

Lots of good players on there, the 2010 level has a ton of good players not eligible either, must be later 10s. A ton of them are summer birthdate holdbacks. 2011s will be similar.
 

I know it’ll be rare for players to commit early in this new world, but I hope Thompson does. Strong GF ties plus he plays a very very responsible game. He’d fit in nicely.

Not necessarily kids who got held back (some are), but because of US History of states' rights, every school district in every state has a different cut date for their school year grouping, which makes things overly complicated. So a lot of these mid-later 2010s are naturally the oldest kids in their grade, rising sophomores in HS. I love how Canada's federal system means the school year grouping is the same for the whole country and they go by the birthyear, meaning all 2010s graduate HS in 2028, all 2011s graduate in 2029. Much simpler system, wish we did that.
