Johnny Five Posted June 29 Posted June 29 Couple great pickups for Larson after losing out on Fitzhenry and the minute chance at adding DuPont for this year. Not sure how hard he had to work for Schneider or Willis, but a nice week nonetheless. 2 Quote

If Schneider is a 5-star, then Fitzhenry must be an 8-star. Freddie is high end. Didn’t have quite the start he wanted and eventually tore his achilles once he started finding his groove. He’s really really good. 1 Quote

Sounds like he's going back to the Dub for another year, then maybe NCAA after that? Granted I haven't watch Jaxson Cover play at all but it sounds like he's still incredibly raw per the prospect guys on the athletic Have a hard time seeing how a team would take a chance on him in the late first compared to Preston Quote

Same thing happened to Luke Evangelista and Easton Cowan. Regarding Preston, some have wondered if medical reports had flags. Additionally, his production in the Dub this past year was legitimately disappointing. I think he's a Penn State or Boston College guy if he goes NCAA for his D+2. Quote

I can't imagine any schools are really wasting any time/effort/money with him although I did say the same thing about Wyatt thinking he was headed to Mich St to join Brooks (which obviously changed). Don't think it will with Joey though. Quote

yzerman19 Posted yesterday at 12:43 PM Posted yesterday at 12:43 PM It's unlikely many of these guys commit at their first opportunity, but here is a list of some of the top US born players that could commit as early as 3 weeks from now. Some top American players eligible to commit 8/1 (not ordered for any reason) 1. Drew Daley D NTDP Buffalo, NY 2. Joey Cullen F NTDP Moorhead, MN 3. RJ Thompson F NTDP Eden Prairie, MN (re-classed forward) 4. Carter Morris F NTDP Anchorage, AK 5. Henry Meier F Everett WHL Woodbury, MN 6. Nash Roed F Waterloo USHL White Bear Lake, MN (late 2009) 7. Jack Queally F NTDP Milton, MA 8. Will LoSauro F NTDP Ridgewood, NJ 9. Chase Schulberger D NTDP Quakertown, PA 10. Mason Schemenauer D NTDP Minnetonka, MN I think Thompson, Roed, Morris, and Schemenauer should be in the mix. The others are long shots based on family connection and geography. 3 Quote

I would imagine all the blue bloods will put the full press on Daley. I wonder/hope we could have a shot! Like you state, I think logistics makes it a reach but he has been at Shattuck and now the NTDP. Hopefully Chyz can make some inroads with him. Quote
yzerman19 Posted yesterday at 03:44 PM Posted yesterday at 03:44 PM Yeah, Daley is the #1 D in the world right now in the 2010 birth year. Could be #1 overall player in the world in the 2010 class. I say could be, because people will make a case for Maddox Schultz...whom I am sure is excellent, I have just never seen him play best on best in the birth year. He did solid in the WHL though as an underager and did very well at the U17 challenge as an underager, so I think its a toss-up between the two of them for top of the mountain. Joey Cullen is different, but also special and kinda lives on the top of his own mountain. I am really curious to see how the US kids' games translate to the junior level this year at NTDP. Specifically Thompson, LoSauro and Queally as they seem to play a very translatable style as it relates to staying honest to the defensive side of the puck while still putting up big numbers offensively. 1 Quote
yzerman19 Posted yesterday at 04:19 PM Posted yesterday at 04:19 PM no sooner than i type this, Nash Roed is added to the NTDP Quote

Hopefully all the bluechip d-men coming through here recently puts us more on his radar Quote

yzerman19 Posted yesterday at 08:15 PM Posted yesterday at 08:15 PM My understanding is that he chose not to apply for exceptional status...slight nuance. Regardless, he is very good by reputation and on paper, so I give him the nod. I'm really interested in seeing the U17 world events this year. In particular, the 2010 COVID kids in the US vs Canada. My gut tells me that the US kids got ice time at 10 and 11 years old where the Canadian kids got less due to restrictions...especially in Ontario. Quote
