Were full next year, is he out a couple years possibly?

2027-28 is when he'd arrive in the NCAA at the earliest. He doesn't graduate HS until 2027 (unless he's accelerated)

Per Schloss’ podcast this morning, UND likely will not be taking another forward commit for 27/28 after the recent commitments.

The only missing piece for the freshman class a year from now is a right shot defenseman that can play up in the lineup.

I imagine Bryn’s main targets are Brock Cripps, Levi Harper, and Giorgos Pantelas to fill that spot.

Welp. Looks like the Gophers finally won one.

That's a solid addition for them. He had an ok u17 year at the NTDP, wonder how much/if he can progress in his u18 year, considering they're losing multiple guys off that team to the CHL

Schneider is a fine pickup for UMN, but I lol'd when I saw that PuckPreps listed him as a 5-star.
If Schneider is a 5-star, then Fitzhenry must be an 8-star.  ;)

Is he comparable to a Jordan Schroeder in game and stature, or has he grown since he was at Edina?

Would UND have taken Freddie a week ago? Yes. Would they have room for him (or anyone else) after the Rucks committed? No.

Gopher fans claiming this as a recruiting win against UND is a stretch. Schloss stated on his podcast this week that UND was not after him, at least anymore. Certainly a solid add for the gophers nonetheless. They’ll probably get Willis too.

24th-ranked and also 5 star really dilutes the meaning of 5 star.

Yeah agreed with all that.

I think there could still be one (or more) forward openings for next year if some forwards this year aren't happy with their playing time or role (like Littler).
Especially if a chipper CHLer is available and willing to come in...make room for him, like @cberkas said.

Yeah, but I don’t think you plan on that, thinking you can over recruit.  If they do that, they would possibly have to do it every year, as the following year you may need to make room for McKamey if he has a good year, and who knows about how the recruitment of Pue, Schultz, Thompson, etc. goes.  It would be nice to have a spot available for surprises every year.

Puck Preps is probably the least accurate of all the amateur scouting and ranking click bait sellers.   When you have repeated years of multiple US born top 20 players on their site that don't even get invited to 40-man it says something.  I think it boils down to they don't really know the game and are ranking based on fan boy watches and highlights.  That said, Schneider is a 5 star recruit.  He is lightning quick and is an excellent playmaker.  He is on the lighter side for sure, but his game isn't about power.  He had a season ending lower body injury this year.

Wasn't Schneider down to Minnesota, St Thomas, & Denver?

Yes, and Minnesota was always #1 in his heart.  Edina kid.  Although his dad is a 218er

Cake eater. They can have him. I'll take the Carels of the world.

Sounds like the forward class for 2027 is complete now, so I would not expect a lot of news on the recruiting front for a while. What will be interesting to watch though is how the staff approaches the 2027 class on defense. Assuming we lose Emery, Carels, and Verhoeff, there will be a lot of minutes to be filled, particularly on the right side. As of now the only RHD we would have returning in 2027 would be Lindberg and the only RHD commit is Penner, who I don't think will be ready to come in.

I'm hoping the staff is in contact with Levi Harper and/or Brock Cripps. Either of those guys could step in immediately and play big minutes on the right side. They are also more skilled, offensive types, which is what I think we'll be in need of

Would be absolutely massive if one of those three returns for another season.  Agreed that all three are more than likely gone, but maybe the staff (and NIL) can convince one to stay one more year.

For sure. You bring any one of those three back and that 2027-2028 roster is looking scary good. I'm not holding my breath, but stranger things have happened

Can't believe that Preston fell all the way to #50...he had multiple projections in mid to late 1st round.
Sounds like he's going back to the Dub for another year, then maybe NCAA after that?

Cooper Williams is another one who plummeted, even moreso than Preston. So much so that Connor Davis, who was previously not projected, passed him.
