Good player, grew really early, not in the greatest league whatsoever. But he’s good for sure. Has a unique shot.

His brother was drafted 5th overall in the WHL right behind Maddox Schultz and Liam Pue. Hopefully he's on our radar.

Hontvet not getting an invite isn’t shocking, but I would’ve thought at least 1-2 of the Moorhead 10s would get a camp invite at minimum

Joey Cullen had to have gotten a bid.  There's no world where he isn't in the top 4 or 5 players in the birthyear when healthy, and that's including Dmen like Daley.  

Did Buttweiler get a bid for sure?  He's a good player and deserving of a look.  

Also not surprised on no Hontvedt.

Nicol did get big young like his brother, but the kid is really good for his age.  His older brother plays the game right, I imagine he does too.

I gotta think that guys having success playing older competition (that's what the NTDP does after all) will be seen as "better" so that's the 2010's playing high school or prep or 16U or 18U.  I'd also think they'd pay attention to the league.  So Minnesota's power conferences in hs hockey are not apples to apples with some dude playing high school in California.  Massachusetts prep school circuit same.

A bit off topic:

Brock Lesnar’s other son, Turk Lesnar, is getting a lot of hype for some reason in Calgary. Looks more like his dad than his brother Duke does. I find it humorous, maybe they both end up being good and good luck to them.

Turk is getting hype because of his name, he's playing at a pretty low level of minor hockey out west.

Duke is better (2025 5th round pick in the Dub, and even then, most think he was drafted too high), has a long way to go just to become a major junior player

all the insta and internet hype is just that...hype...scouts don't watch hype or highlights, they watch games.  who is better to a scout, the guy with a couple highlight reel goals and big celly's or the guy who got one and took great routes with perfect details and won...

Hopefully we’re after Buttweiler, Thompson and Cullen. Would love Daley too but he may be tough being an east coast kid. I get Cullens boys are going Minny but the goofs could screw that up too

There's a potential generational talent goalie at St Thomas Academy right now:  Owen Ryan.  He's a 2011.  I know goalies have a different development path, but this kid is the real deal.

I wonder if Joey Cullen is really in play? I have to imagine very few programs spent much time on Wyatt assuming he would just follow his brother to Mich St. I'd like to be in on McKinnon too!

There’s a Czech player that was at the U20 about to commit some where. Also sounds like another could be another.

2008s, 2026 Draft eligible, projected late 1st/early 2nd rounders. Schloss told me they haven't started looking at NCAA programs but that could pick up after the season. They could play another year in the Dub before going to the NCAA in 2027-28. They could sign and stay in junior and then go pro, so we'll see.
