24hr bus ride?
I'd want to leave the CHL for the NCAA just for the chartered plane rides alone!  ;)

I’d say it’s misleading since they stopped and practiced in Coeur d’Alene the day before they got to Seattle/Everett. You’d think the WHL would have had them play Spokane, Tri-city and Wanatchee also on the trip

Pat is coaching his son in Muskegon too

Not actually coaching. That was a PR stunt more than anything.

I think Pat is an off ice advisor for coaches & management

Having someone around who was able to grind it out from the NAHL to a respectable NHL career is good for all parties involved.

Braiden Scuderi (2009, Haddon Heights NJ, Cedar Rapids Roughriders) commits to Notre Dame.

Mildly surprised there, thought Scuderi would be going to Boston College or Boston University, seems like Sheahan and the ND staff continue to recruit well.

Pat works full time for the Lightning and I see him in the arena almost every day.  So being an off ice advisor for the Muskegon team and not an actual coach makes sense.

Does anyone know if Bryce Pickford has any interest in college hockey?  Has already put up 20 goals and 16 assists as a defenseman in the WHL.

Watched Ryan Lin tonight, he should be in NCAA next year and not much longer until he's a top 4 in the show. Played half the game and won every 50 50 puck. Rushed end to end twice and drew a penalty on one. PP1 QB and PK1. Smooth and poised, did everything right all game long. Really hoping he doesn't land at Denver.

Wonder who is going after Lin the hardest. You can always assume Denver, North Dakota, & Michigan will be in the mix, would likely assume Michigan State, Boston University, Boston College, and now Penn State will be kicking tires as well

Denver seems like the best fit. I would be surprised if they did not get a high end defenseman this offseason to fill the Pohlkamp role.

In terms of UND, they are probably kicking tires on some of the right shot defenseman. If both Emery and Verhoeff return next year, which I think is likely, they’ll probably focus on Carson Carels.

Is ranked as high as #4 in the 2026 draft by Cam & as low as #14 by Button. Consensus among some pundits is that he would be in the top 3 conversation if he were a little bigger (listed at 5'11', 176). Is smooth as butter (elite skater) & very high hockey IQ. If he lands at DU, he'd be a continuation in style of Z. Buium.

Watching the two games between the U.S. Development team and CHL All stars, I was most impressed with Xavier Villeneuve at defense. Smaller guy, but huge compete level.  Compared to Lane Hutson.  Imagine he will play out east somewhere though.

Joey Cullen (Sophomore 2010) 2.80 points per game and RJ Thompson (Freshman 2010) 2.75 points per game seem to not be having any difficulty transitioning to High School Hockey.  Maverick McKinnon 2.33 and Jaxon Cook 2.29 played high school last year and are also 2010's and clearly being big producers for their teams as well.  Moorhead and Eden Prairie have had tough schedules thus far with a couple top 10 match-ups each.  These kids are pretty fun to watch play.

Tommy Lafreniere (2007, Hornby Island BC, Edmonton Oil Kings, 2025 Edmonton 3rd rounder) commits to Western Michigan. Very solid addition for the Broncos.

Looking at his numbers, it seems like he might neglect the defensive side of the puck.
Last year he scored 56pts but was a -33 +/- (2nd worst on the team).
This year his numbers have been bolstered, as he centers the top line with the 1st and 2nd WHL points scorers Hurlbert (Mich) and Behm (ASU).
Yet he still has the worst +/- on the team at -11.  Hurlbert and Behm are at +12 and +14.  That's quite a difference.
