Are we seeing that Sheahan is a force on the recruiting trail, is this NIL, or both? Impressive stuff from them lately. 1 Quote

Jackson had a very specific niche of players he had recruited, didn't land the high end 4 stars and 5 stars often if ever. Sheahan, with his experience with the Chicago Steel when they turned into a wagon, is likely a much more aggressive & persistent recruiter who appeals to younger guys. Would think their budget helps some. 2 Quote
atxsioux Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Western Canadians don't really seem like the type to go to Notre Dame so I think thankfully they wont be in the picture on those recruits. Looks like they'll be more of a player on the US recruits though definitely (Having an older super structured pseudo lame duck coach gone now probably fully opens the door for Sheahan a little more too) Quote

I think Notre Dame will be a bigger player in recruiting Ontario, battling with Michigan, Michigan State, Boston University, Penn State, and sometimes Boston College. Sheahan is Canadian, from Lethbridge Alberta, so would imagine he has far more minor & junior hockey connections throughout the country than a lot coaches. Quote
brianvf Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Does anyone have any info on what Mathis Preston might do for NCAA next season? All the write-ups on him talk about how fast he is. Would love to add some speed to the lineup next season after James departs. 1 Quote

He follows Penn State and BC. He also follows Bryn, like @cberkassaid. He has followed Bryn within the last couple of weeks. UND is in the mix and it only helps that he is playing with Verhoeff and Williams for the next week or two. 1 Quote

Heck, just adding DuPont and Preston, combined with what we already have incoming for next season...and we'd be set. 1 Quote

UND is very young and if they are able to retain most of their guys, they may only have one or two freshman spots open for next season. They will be pretty selective with those spots considering how much talent is still uncommitted. I’m confident that UND will land one or two high end players for 26/27. 1 1 Quote

I could see D-corps needing to replace Liv, Wiebe, and Zmolek. Maybe Emery if they want him in their system instead of playing a 3rd year here. Hopefully Reschny and Verhoeff stick around for 2 years. Like you said, not a ton of open spots so hopefully they are selective and can fill them with some blue chippers. Quote
AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago We will have a draft pick portal out annually, just how college athletics works now. Can't have this much talent and keep it. Preferably it's someone who was underperforming like Costantini, Johnson or Emerson. I have a hunch who it will be but hope he proves me wrong. EDIT: we also need to keep a slot for someone who has proven themselves at the college level who grew up a fan a la Johannes and Menghini. Players who will relish every moment on the ice, never taking a shift for granted. Quote

Other than this past portal window, UND generally gets better from the portal. I would like to see us only use the portal to even out the classes once a player leaves. Quote

atxsioux Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Swanson may be a possible flight risk if this season doesn’t go too well for him individually. (Granted if he struggles this year not too sure how big of a loss it would end up being in the grand scheme of things.) Quote

Seemed like one of those opportunities where he needed a different role to thrive because when guys like Senden (don’t get me wrong, he bled green and was a great team-first guy) and Hain play over you regularly, it’s hard to develop to your full potential.
