I heard something similar about him walking around in UND gear at the gopher regional game. Maybe the new staff did not offer him?

They are holding out for somebody, probably Desnoyers. Pridham is the most likely guy to fill the last spot, in my opinion.

As far as I know, he hasn’t heard much from any Big 10 or NCHC schools yet. He took a trip up to UND with some Moorhead kids back in May or so, but didn’t meet with coaches or anything. 

If he were to commit on 8/1, I would think it would be Mankato State or another school along those lines. I’ll try do some digging.

Re: Spicer, an interview of Powers I listened to a few months back didn't mention Spicer when he discussed the incoming class. Thought it was due to the size and getting away from the Last Chance U stigma.

If they watch hockey, I'd assume so. I know there are some Gophers loyalists on the Moorhead side of the border. And the locals there obviously tend to obsess about NDSU Football.

Off topic, but I wonder how many "reversible jacket" fans there are in North Dakota, in terms of oddballs who are North Dakota Hockey, North Dakota State Football fans, considering UND has been the hockey standard in the NCAA until recently, NDSU doesn't have hockey, & NDSU Football is the FCS football standard. Like I wonder if Kleven, Strinden, etc down in Fargo liked both or if they were UND all the way for everything growing up.

He only played bantams on in Moorhead, he’s a ND kid. If he gets offered I’d assume he takes it.

How good is Zimmerman? He put up great numbers as a sophomore last year for Moorhead. He is an old sophomore but 78 points in AA is solid for any age. Are those numbers inflated by playing with Kraft?

Kid put up points vs top competition in Minny AA too...wasn't like he padded vs the little sisters of the poor.  I think he's a legit college prospect.  He put up solid numbers at USA dev camps and in the elite league.  I think he projects as a middle 6 college forward that could play top 6 with the right program.

RJ Thompson and Maverick McKinnon are two of the top 2010's in the country and both received invites to the HS Elite League as freshman. A handful of elite 2010 sophomores also did:  Gramer, Korten, Hontvedt, and Jackson.  These are 1 year out targets, as I have heard both Thompson and McKinnon have accelerated to join the early 2010's grade wise.

Really interested to see which Canadian 2009s commit on August 1. Brock Cripps (WHL, Prince Albert Raiders) has always been intriguing to me, supposed to be pretty high end.

North Dakota is so deep red, Trump wouldn’t put a tariff on Canadian hockey players, would he?  Word is that Canadian junior leagues are lobbying for it.

There aren't enough further right conservatives who care about hockey to really push for it. And it would get thrown out in court anyway IMHO.

More high end Canadians (from the CHL) in the NCAA is better for the sport. Too many mediocre NAHL guys littered throughout the NCAA, especially in the CCHA & Atlantic, it's very underwhelming.

The executive order wouldn’t be a massive surprise, the bill actually getting passed would surprise me haha. 
 

it would be similar to the recent exec order trying to limit NIL pay for play, no way it actually will go into affect.

I see Brock England as a potential August 1st splash for UND. I believe had mentioned him last week. Really looking forward to seeing where he falls on Schloss’ list this morning. 
 

I think UND will primarily pick up high end local kids (ND and MN) and Western Canadians.

England would be a massive get. He follows UND and a few of the other top schools. There's still the worry if these kids commit early and then closer to their ncaa season another school swoops in with a massive NIL deal.

This should be 80% of the commits for the average cycle, would like to see Chyzyk & Jackson break through in Ontario, get some solid players from Illinois, California, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, New Jersey when possible. I think New Englanders will be extremely hard to ever get as first time recruits since their cultural ties are to the Hockey East programs for the most part.
