Two locks currently committed (Klee & Zellers). Are Schultz or O'Neill realistic options for next year? Both with strong mid-season rankings for the draft. Would be true freshman. Neither lighting it up to the point where you'd think they wouldn't need one more year of juniors. Even realizing you have the CHL / Portal as options, when does this become an issue? The Portal was not as strong last year as it has been in the past. We're out of Covid seasons as well. We could see the 5 in 5 rule implemented soon. Not to say that inaction on our part will be rewarded, but there could be silent commits or a wait and see approach. Someone like Marcus Nguyen (committed to Omaha) could decide to sign pro rather than play college. Almost guaranteed one of BGSU's CHL commits does. Quote
cberkas Posted Friday at 08:41 PM Posted Friday at 08:41 PM Ivar Stenberg doesn't jump out with his number but is playing/played 7 games in the SHL so not sure if he was loaned from the U20 team. Quote

He has 52 pts/26 games. I believe we’re one of the blue bloods in on him. The other are teams are having a lot more successes than us recently so I would assume we’re on the outside looking in. Quote

But was he loaned to the SHL team is a big question same with Benak in the USHL Quote
brianvf Posted Saturday at 08:39 PM Posted Saturday at 08:39 PM Speaking of Benak, anyone hear about where he is leaning? He could make a nice center replacement for us next year with all the centers we lose. Quote

I haven't seen anything but those 18 games with HC Plzen in the Czech Extraliga could keep him from the NCAA route. Quote

I don't think the NCAA cares about that stuff anymore. They'll let anything slide to avoid a lawsuit. Won't be long before every NCAA athlete can play 5 years. Quote

As much as I'd want UND to offer him I just haven't seen anything pointing to him looking at the NCAA route. Quote
AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted yesterday at 07:22 AM Posted yesterday at 07:22 AM Shaun Rios, former SSM teammate of Zellers, appears to be no longer committed to Lindenwood and having a good season in the WHL. Quote

But it isn’t a full contract. Quote
SIOUXELEVENS Posted yesterday at 01:59 PM Posted yesterday at 01:59 PM Do these coaches even make recruiting visits anymore? Coaches would be absent from the bench on recruiting trips, that doesn’t seem to happen anymore. Hakstol driving to have lunch with boeser to get him to play here. Quote

Wilbur Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Mentioned in another thread, but Minot kid Colin Grubb is having a good start to the year with Shattuck 16U. A teammate of his, Brenden Soller has got to be on a ton of radars as well. LA kid, so wouldn't shock me if he ended up in the valley of the sun. Quote
