Don't we have a guy who can hop on his bike, ride by practice and determine who the Starting QB should be??

there is should and there is want...just like the poll...

I want Jerry to get his shot...reminds me a lot of Kevin Klancher....and the should be....anyone but Simon.

I want Jerry to get his shot too. We have had too many QBs we all get so excited about come in here and then just either suck or never even get the opportunity to prove themselves. Mollberg, Palandech, Feeney just to name a few. Could Jerry be next?

Rudy had a thing against Mollberg.  Not sure why.  Told him he'd never be regular QB as long as he was the coordinator.

This talk of giving Jerry a chance makes it seem like he's not able to practice.

He got a chance last fall. He is getting a chance this fall.

Does anyone think the coaches are hoping he fails so they can keep Simon out there??

feeney and jerry DIDN'T have much of a shot ....we will find out if that call was Bubba's or Isaac's....soon.

If you don’t know who made the decision by now, I doubt you ever will. It wasn’t one guy. At this point it no longer matters.

I believe Rudy made the comment to another player. Either way,  it was a reflection on Rudy.  Regardless of anything else, you don’t do that to a player who ruptured his Achilles playing for you, without giving him a chance to return.
Although I have heard (second hand) that JK is leading the competition to be the starter this fall, this staff is giving SR a chance to compete. Mollberg should have been given the same chance after his injury. That ship has long sailed so it no longer matters.

I don’t care which of the 4 guys they choose, it will be whomever the coaches think gives this team the best chance to win.  I believe it’s a “work in progress” no matter who starts.

"Work in progress" better not be said if Simon breaks the huddle as QB1 in a couple of weeks. He took EVERY meaningful snap last season. If he's the guy this season again it needs to be because he improved dramatically from last season to the start of this season.

I would agree that if Simon starts it it would be because of dramatic improvement from last year.

I think the same could be said about JK.

It seems none of them have yet shown the consistency needed to clearly grab the lead, it will be a “work in progress “ and I would include SR. I considered his entire season last year as a “work in progress “.  Just my opinion.

I guess when I say give him a shot I don’t mean just hand it to him. If Simon is our best option, move forward with him. Everyone is in agreement that it was a colossal failure not giving Jerry some more run last year.

Especially if Simon was playing hurt. Maybe I missed it, when did he get hurt last Fall or was it after season?

I don't know who made the final final decision to start Simon...but i think it might have been the guy with the 55% wining percentage and a 3% winning percentage on the road.  I highly doubt Isaac chose him...if Simon starts in Manhatten we know he's Isaac's guy and good luck...all eyes on you...if he's qb3 then we'll know that Bubba chose him.

Either way this 20 year "work in progress" is pathetic....

I don't think Bubba made the decision for Isaac last year.

You keep beating that drum but if Simon is qb3, it still tells you nothing about last year's decision.  Jerry was a RF last year and is a year further along in his development.   JTJ wasn't even here.

yes it does...what happened last year is the reason why bubba is "retired" and his winning percentage is sub 60%...name one school where a qb goes down from qb1 to qb3 or qb4
