Does the B1G have a deal with ESPN or is it just FOX?

I think the B1G has TV deals with 3 of the 4 major networks (NBC, CBS, and Fox).  As for their content on cable, it may only be B1G Network.  Don't take my word as 100% gospel on this, though.

just saying more random casual fan people would watch a unlv v asu game versus a cc v scsu game.....

AND you gotta start somewhere when it comes to getting your first fix of college hockey....could be a guy with a broken foot that says it's either the princess bridge again with the wife or asu v unlv.....easy choice

Dude, have you looked at college hockey's biggest games (Frozen Four)? The 2024 championship game didn't even draw 500k viewers.

missed my point....talking about which schools people have actually heard of versus schools that people have no clue where they are....

people are more prone to watching a central michigan football game against toledo than grand valley state versus pittsburgh state ......of kansas or wisconsin-osh kosh by gosh versus mount union purple raiders.

same thing with other sports....

You are just moving it from one platform to another. ESPN isn't coming in to produce the games, they just take the feed from wherever, so you'll still get the same quality that is on nchc.tv

I never said they were.

Would a regular season partnership with the network that broadcasts the NCAA tournament help drive interest?  I can't say for certain, but I don't think it would hurt.

Seriously? Gotta be for a decade or more.

if true .....how much would this so called "super conference" get if you merged the top of HE and NCHC then?

Midco will be making a big bid for the NCHC streaming rights as they currently have all the streaming rights to the CCHA Hockey and Summit League BB.  I believe they are renewing the TV rights for all of UND sports as well

If that happened, would that essentially dissolve NCHC.tv?  And that would still have the NCHC needing a "TV" partner for games of the week, conference tournament games, etc. (Like CBSSN is now)?

I guess I will continue to be in the dark outside of football. :(

It would continue to operate the same way it does today, NCHC simply picks up the inhouse feed from the host school. Some are good feeds others are awful but usually there is some standard they should be able to follow.  Midco Sports+ is almost becoming the regional ESPN+...all streaming content. CBS Sports doesn't have the streaming rights.

Not sure it's outside the box.  Outside of an OTA network, I can't think of a better platform to get college hockey on TV across the country than ESPN.  To do that for more than 2 weekends a year would be huge for the sport.

Let's be honest, outside our region there is little interest in college hockey on the national landscape.   College football and basketball will continue to drive the revenue for ESPN and alike.

as larger schools in bigger cities come on board things will change....ASU adding d1 hockey was ballsy but in the long run it will work out well for them down there....

i feel the same for tsu...even more ballsy but it will work out fine for them in the long run imo

Yes, I know.  That's why I feel a partnership with ESPN would be beneficial for growing interest.  Even getting more NHL fans interested would be a big start.

ASU football did what this year....went to the first game of the year....fun atmosphere for a team predicted to finish last in the big 12 (16)...

A big no to midco. They’re awful. Their production team’s incompetant. The sound crew is asleep most of the time. Announcers mic is popping like hell. Is the name alec or alex? I feel sorry for him.  In any case, they cant be paying him very much. He’s not capable of doing play by play. He really does color. Too often players are moving the puck. He’ telling some ridiclous story. Im sure he’s not had any formal training. Nobody taught him to do p by p. My fellow sioux fans may not like my post. I spent many decades in broadcast media. There’s a huge difference in play by play & color. Cant stand to listen to midco. I turn midco sound off and listen to timmy  go sioux

I voted Espn because I think all fans and all recruits should be able to see the games. I have had family members call me for score update because they didn't have CBSSN.

yeah, my mom in town seems to have channel in the world but whatever midco package she has didn't/ doesn't have cbssn....stupid
