brianvf Posted yesterday at 05:37 PM Posted yesterday at 05:37 PM I'm not sold on WMU or DU being #1 in the league this year with all they lost. Both have coaches that can certainly get the most out of their players though, so it wouldn't be a shock. Also not sold on UND taking over the top spot if one of those two above isn't #1. As UND also lost a bunch. Gonna be a wide-open, fun season I have a feeling. Quote

Denver is great because of Carle & their usual solid recruiting, but will be interesting to see how they look offensively without Buium. I could see Nebraska Omaha as high as 3 but as low as 8, likely same with Colorado College; the conference will be very fun to follow overall. Quote

That streak has got to end sometime, right?!? Every year the last like three seasons they've lost all their big scorers and every year they get replaced by someone new. Has to end at some point. I see Western being at the top until Pat leaves for the NHL. That jerk just got Cooper Soller to commit to Kalamazoo too..... 1 Quote

Western hadn’t won anything until last year, and now they replace Denver as the team to fear? Western has never had a bullseye on them before, so now they get to find out how it is to be Denver and North Dakota, where every team is looking to knock them off. Quote

They might not be the annual team to fear, but they return Slukynsky and Ferschweiler keeps turning nobodies into dudes. No one would have thought anything of Owen Michaels before 2024-25, then he turned into their 2nd best forward. Replacing Bump's production will be a challenge, but guys keep stepping up for the Broncos. Quote

Nehring could be a guy to help fill that void from Bump for WMU, wish we could've landed him back in the day recruiting. (I think that's why it's fair to applaud the coaching staff for locking down Grubb and Penner, because for whatever reason the past regime either missed out on landing Nehring or didn't think he was worth recruiting) Not sure if he was a late bloomer? He was a horse for WMU last year though especially considering he was a freshman. Quote
brianvf Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Wisdom and Whitelaw were two very solid pickups out of the portal for them. I would’ve welcomed both to UND, although I’ve seen it mentioned that Whitelaw is an issue in the locker room. They lost their best 200ft forward in Washe, their best center in Matteo, and the best forward in the league in Bump. Bump will be very hard to replace, he single-handedly won them several games. 2 Quote

Very good system fit in his 19 year old freshman season at Western Michigan. Quote

I should've said in the top three of the league, or top half of the league. Quote

Everyone talks a lot about the Slukynsky in the net, but I thought Grant was excellent in the postseason for them on the line with Nehring and Valente. They return a good amount of their d core too. Having Herter back there doesn't hurt things by any means. 1 Quote

Under the radar stud on the back end. Quote

Really like getting Bookman out of the portal too Quote

tnt Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I see Schlossman said Bemidji State has a couple guys that played in the AHL that are eligible to play college because NCAA cleared them. What is the process that allows guys that played pro hockey to become eligible. Assuming guys that already played college hockey wouldn’t be eligible again if they played pro and decided to come back. Just curious how the NCAA has changed so drastically in that regard, and how transparent the new policy is. 1 Quote

Still find it insane that he didn’t get a single point during the NCAA tourney. That’s some killer coaching and grit they showed. Quote
