The “fire Bob” chatter is starting to get loud in Dinkytown. Letting him go is warranted but unlikely, in my opinion.

GPL created a "Future of Pride on Ice" thread instead of the usual fire Bob thread.

The cost of firing Bob, buying out Barr, and signing him to a new contract would be very steep. Likely well over $2 million.  That’s also if Barr is willing to leave Maine for Minnesota.

Would it be possible that the Gophers go after David Carle? Would he even be interested if courted?

Carle isn’t leaving DU for another NCAA job IMO. He hasn’t even left for NHL opportunities the last few times he was offered.

I hope they don’t go after Garrett Raboin.  He’s doing a nice job at Augie.

Funny they both have come up. Carle has young kids and a DU let him keep is scholarship. Unless the Avs job came open he's not leaving

Maybe the negative of our coaching hire seemingly being a success is that UMinn follows suit and fires Bob? Bringing up Pat as a new coach would be something likely positive. Haven’t thought about it that way.

The success in year 1 that Dane and Co has had in my head makes me think it’s makes Bob’s seat slightly hotter.
