beastandco Posted yesterday at 03:05 AM Posted yesterday at 03:05 AM The “fire Bob” chatter is starting to get loud in Dinkytown. Letting him go is warranted but unlikely, in my opinion. 1 Quote

They keep saying Ben Barr The cost of firing Bob, buying out Barr, and signing him to a new contract would be very steep. Likely well over $2 million. That’s also if Barr is willing to leave Maine for Minnesota. Quote

Godsmack Posted yesterday at 03:55 AM Posted yesterday at 03:55 AM Would it be possible that the Gophers go after David Carle? Would he even be interested if courted? Edit: or Pat Ferschweiller? He’s from Rochester, MN. Quote
Popular Post brianvf Posted yesterday at 03:57 AM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 03:57 AM Carle isn’t leaving DU for another NCAA job IMO. He hasn’t even left for NHL opportunities the last few times he was offered. 6 Quote

Unless the Avs job came open he's not leaving 2 Quote
TwamleyShuffle Posted yesterday at 04:32 AM Posted yesterday at 04:32 AM Maybe the negative of our coaching hire seemingly being a success is that UMinn follows suit and fires Bob? Bringing up Pat as a new coach would be something likely positive. Haven’t thought about it that way. Quote

They would pay whatever it took to keep him. Also, why go to minnesota when you can continue to coach your alma mater in a better conference with better facilities? 2 4 Quote

Fair point. i brought it up because I experienced it when the Gophers were able to poach Don Lucia from CC. I get it-CC’s a much smaller school and program than Western but they had an incredible run in the mid to late 90’s winning 4 McNaughton cups in a row and back to back FF appearances and I’m sure that was a very attractive draw for the gophers similar to the recent success of the Broncos. I’m sure the Gophs will go poaching if/when Motzko leaves. Just a matter of who they’ll go after. Perhaps Raboine? Quote

I just think where Fersch is at this point in his career, he'd gladly take an almost sure lifetime position in a town he loves with a brand new facility over the pressure that would come with being the HC at Minnesota. I could be wrong, but if he were 15 years younger i'd be more worried. 5 Quote

He won back to back natty’s within his first couple years as Gophers coach and then how the sentiment changed as years went by and how much Gophers fans wanted a change. Quote
