This has happened a couple times recently in Scottsdale. Guy gets hit in the head (and/or falls hits their head) and dies. The guy being the aggressor gets convicted.

I'm guessing you haven't met too many PSU alums. There are some good people for sure but that school attracts a lot of morons or poor decision makers throughout Pennsylvania, too.

You are wrong if you wait for someone to punch you before you retaliate.  You're assuming all the risk in a self defense situation.  You gonna let some dingbat stab you first too?

Gavin probably should have walked away.  The other dumbass definitely should've walked away.  If the storyline holds true I hope the charges against Gavin are dropped entirely.  If it makes it to court I hope his charges are acquitted by the jury. 

Dude with a broken jaw should equally be charged with crimes...disorderly, disturbing the peace, harassment, heck I'd like to see a charge for assaulting Gavin's fist with his face.

I'm not for violence but I'm even moreso against rewarding degenerates for being degenerate.  The guy took it upon himself to place himself in a risky situation, own it.

What's legal is a different matter unfortunately.

They were chirping the students as they were leaving the student section. I’ve never seen fans from the opposing team do that there. It was funny, sad, and annoying listening to them

Hot take:

Let’s say this story is true about McKenna’s mom being harassed and the “punchee” was waiting outside to taunt some more. If McKenna doesn’t serve jail time and is allowed to play somewhere this season, I think this propels him to #1 overall. Was he defending the honor of his mom from a heckler that wouldn’t just let it go? Teams will eat that up because now it looks like he isn’t as soft as we all thought and will go to bat for people he cares about.  Combine that with the fact that he’s finally tearing it up on the ice and he has started teaching his potential this past month, he’s going #1. 

Doesn’t change the fact it was an insanely stupid decision. He deserves punishment, but this hopefully doesn’t completely derail his future.

One of them the two groups got in an argument outside the bar. As the one group walked away, a guy from the other group sucker punched him. Head hit the ground and died at the hospital. Case is still on going.

Agree…unless of course McKenna gets suspended or kicked off the team or actual prison time.  I don’t think prison will happen here but you can’t let some idiot chirping you cost you your season/career.

He won't go to prison. There may be a $ settlement at most. If he gets kicked off the team, he goes pro and will be a good teammate known as someone who stands up to mouth breathers. I have zero doubt he will have a good and long lasting career.

Don't think it impacts too much but this likely loses Penn State at least a couple percentage points for high end recruits in the future. Yes it probably happens everywhere but it's different when it's front page news of a random student harassing a player to that point (assuming the story is actually true).

It will be used by other teams in negative recruiting pitches against other teams. Just like how teams bring up Motzko's old age/Dinkytown being a mess for Minnesota, Pearson & now Naurato's underachievements with stacked rosters at Michigan, now this will be used against Penn State
