7 point lead in the NCHC!! UND still needs to handle their business, but this helps

Nice, good to have a little cushion, especially before heading to WMU on that last weekend.

Do we care about the Penrose at all? I'd prefer Frozen Four appearance and National Championship win

Nice to hang all the banners that you can.
Plus with the added benefit this year of getting home ice for the entire NCHC playoffs then.

You want to win all the hardware you can.

Fair, I'm just bitter after they won the Penrose in 2024 and then they let their foot off the gas, lost a 1 seed, got a brutal 1st round tournament matchup and lost

1-0 CC

CC absolutely wearing ASU down. Shots were something like, 20-6 that first period. You could see this starting last night at the beginning of the third period. Puck was in Sun Devils’ end almost the entire period.

Which equates to more revenue for the program.  Yes, National Championships is where it is at, but winning league titles helps with recruiting if you don’t win it all.

If Duluth doesn’t win tonight, home ice is certainly a question for them, especially if we can beat them next weekend.  Miami has played two fewer games and will be within shouting distance, especially when Duluth still has to play at Miami, and I would assume without Gajan.

Would you say that period was on the softer side for the Devils?

Will Gajan be gone next weekend for the Olympics?

Mayotte commented how tired ASU looked in the third last night. I hope and expect CC to continue doing what they started in the third last night and have that carry over to this rest of the game.

CC outshot ASU 25-6 in that first period.
And yet those darn ASU fans will still get mad at Smaby calling them soft.  :D

Was hoping that ASU would still see opportunity to move up, and want them to be engaged from here on out in the regular season since they still play Western and Denver.
