I know he was a UND commit years ago and was at Duluth at one time. So we didn't want him or he didn't want us? I'm guessing the first. I haven't paid a lot of attention to hockey, sorry. UND wanted him to play one more year in the USHL. He didn't want to, so went to UMD instead. In hindsight, he could have used that extra year of USHL 'seasoning'. His 2nd year at UMD, he ran into academic problems and was withdrawn from the school. 1 Quote

If Perdion is defensively sound and can chip in a few goals while centering the 4th line, I’ll take it. 1 Quote

Based on stats it seems like both Perdion and Gault were some of the better +\- players for both of their teams. Obviously that stat doesn’t always tell a great story. Also looking at the player stats for Ferris. Wowzer they were bad haha. Quote

Wonder if they do anything more in the portal Quote
tnt Posted Thursday at 12:46 PM Posted Thursday at 12:46 PM I tell you one thing, this whole portal thing every year really makes me appreciate guys like Griffin Ness even more. The guy could have moved on several times, but chose to stay even though he didn't get a ton of ice time when his numbers should have dictated a little more. 3 Quote

"As a result of North Dakota not making the dance, longtime head coach and 2016 national champion Brad Berry was fired after ten seasons and replaced by Dane Jackson. The Fighting Hawks also made Waterloo Black Hawks general manager Bryn Chyzyk the program’s assistant coach/general manager. Chyzyk became the first general manager in NCAA hockey to have coaching/recruiting capabilities. “They made that last move to dominate the portal and attack the new world with the CHL,” the source went on. “They’re not messing around, and they want to be at the front of the line if and when McKenna says he’s open for business to the NCAA.” -------------- 7 Quote

I agree to a point, but a player like McKenna is going No. 1 and will be making max contract in his first season. Doubt $200K or whatever that number is will be super important to him. I guess I could be wrong. Quote

Online articles indicate that *if* he decides to go the college route, NIL dollars are not important. Most important is development for the next level. Several sources indicate North Dakota and Michigan are the two in the running. Here's to hoping. 1 Quote

Which is why Jackson's comment on having 3 to 4 year players is so important. Quote

If you don't balance it out well enough, you end up with Michigan (mostly mercenary approach) or Minnesota (mostly culture approach) esque title droughts. 1 Quote
