The Sagarin figures prove my point. The top 3 programs in the MVFC *in 2024* are upper MAC category… and now here comes the ascension of UND football right on cue. The Dakota schools (all four of them) are “upper MAC category”. MVFC is just as good as the MAC. C’mon @NDRA you trying too hard. Ultimately, some won’t be satisfied until the proof is in the pudding. That’s fine … eventually you’ll see. Quick search shows 60 MAC players in NFL. 31 MVFC, pretty much 2 to 1. 8 MAC schools above UND in last yrs final rankings. Quote

NFL players is a single metric that does not always indicate collegiate team success. I will say, the bottom teams in the MVFC are a lot worse than the bottom teams in the MAC, so that also skews those numbers you provided. The top teams in the MVFC - as you already stated - are better than the top teams in the MAC. 2025 UND (and beyond) will join the other 3 Dakota schools as that elite MVFC group that compares to the top of MAC. Why care about 2024 UND rankings?… as the 2024 UND team was a disaster and a very low bar given they had a losing record, lost 5 in a row, AND now have entirely new facilities, coaches, NIL initiatives, and even many new players. It’s apples to oranges comparing 2024 UND to 2025 UND football. But, keep cherry picking stats to prove your faulty argument… rather than @NDRA you should be the MAC-MAN or something catchy like that. Ultimately, I don’t buy it in the slightest that the MAC is better than the MVFC, especially when factoring in the quality of play and football investment within the Dakotas. Also, head to head (MVFC vs MAC) play means something also … Quote

forksandspoons Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Us as fans can contribute to the football team via the 701 Award and encourage others to do so as well. It’s the best way to help combat our recruits and players getting poached by bigger schools. Again, to further beat the dead horse, the Beaver boys will go where they want. I asked their teammate, who was here on a recruiting visit this month. I mentioned that they were still posting about other offers. He said both are still excited about their commitment here. If you watch their highlight films, you shouldn’t be surprised they are getting FBS offers. I’m surprised they haven’t had solid offers from some higher level FBS teams. They have great footwork and are quick off the ball. Could probably play OL/DL at our level. Great commits if we can keep them. NIL is the unknown factor. In our favor, they loved their visit here, they both have an offer here, and they have former teammates already here and their Jr HS QB had a great visit here. A Big 10 or Big 12 offer with $25,000 NIL would make it tough to keep them. In today’s climate, some of these guys need to be sold on the idea of coming here for 3 Yrs and then, if good enough, move on to the next level for $6 figures. 6 Quote
