SiouxFan100 Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 We just went 7:42 without a field goal come on guys Quote
sioux24/7 Posted November 5, 2024 Author Posted November 5, 2024 Disappointing first half but I’m not completely shocked. One thing I will say, I wouldn’t mind if Mayar rides the bench this year. Guy doesn’t provide much that I can tell. Quote
GoodGood Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Just some growing pains. Not that worried tbh Quote

Not sure how much scoring we’re going to get from that group this year Quote

Hans8891 Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Struggling defensively down low as expected. I was hoping that we would look better offensively. Paul needs a different offensive look. Way too slow with limited movement. We don’t have BJ and Ihenacho this year to simply create on their own. Will likely need to be running this year or we will be in trouble relying on this half court offense. Some good athletes, but not much for shooters that I am seeing other than Treysen. Not a good recipe unless we can really create off the dribble. That hasn’t happened and we have way too many turnovers. 15 at the half has to be near a record. Eli seems timid. He is going to have to create for them to have success, especially if this is the offense we are going to continue to run Quote
ND1 Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Deng brings nothing Mara looks lost on the court Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Disappointed with our defense amongst other problems too - allowing Colorado 60% fg 1 Quote
NewUndFan Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Let some of the freshman play. Mara has no defense and looks lost out there. Id like to see What Botham has. Quote
GoodGood Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Not over reacting because I think we’ll be fine come conference play but it’s been pretty embarrassing tonight Quote
Hans8891 Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 If we don’t have more than this, we will be lucky to win 2 games in the conference. We have zero team defensive skills. Not much for individual defensive skills. An offense that doesn’t generate anything. We have 5 assists so far. 30 percent shooting when we don’t turn it over - which is a third of our possessions. No shooters other than Trey. Ouch…. Finally a few minutes of pushing up the floor resulted in a couple good looks. Need that more - half court offense is nonexistent. CSU is good but we don’t look like we belong on the floor with them. Quote
GoodGood Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Well that was embarrassing. On to the next Quote
sioux24/7 Posted November 5, 2024 Author Posted November 5, 2024 Can’t let last nights result weigh too much on our outlook but I do fear this may take time. I still think we lack that PG that can create for others. Mier can handle the duties but feel like he would be a better slasher. Eaglestaff could maybe do it but he’s also the guy that needs to score 20+ for us. Also, we need to figure it out defensively. Seems like we have some of the attributes to be relatively good defensively, minus a post defense, but not sure we have the want to be good defensively yet. 1 Quote
UND1983 Posted November 5, 2024 Posted November 5, 2024 Treysen seemed to get locked up pretty good last night. They covered him up on the ball screen stuff Quote

It’s always going to be tough to be a good defensive team when you’re missing that piece. Not saying it’s impossible, but it certainly makes it way more difficult. Luckily, there’s not a whole lot of post bigs in the league that are in issue, as of right now. Cluff with SDSU will be tough. Quote

SiouxFan100 Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 Do we have a top three team in the summit? I don’t like being routed but Colorado was good Quote

SDSU looks really good, NDSU should be good, USD has had a couple home victories (over lower end D1 teams), UST will always be tough with Tauer, KC returns a lot. Idk the conference may not have that dominant team but it’s tough. I am fairly confident that Trey, King and Amar will be fine. Even Panoam I think will be fine. I need Woodson, Reggie and Mara to step up though. Quote
