SiouxFan100 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I have seen Schiller play in high school multiple times. Having the ball in her hands dribbling around looking for an opening isn’t the worst thing. 1 Quote
Hans8891 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Today we should take care of business. Denver is just not very athletic. Assuming we don’t have 29 turnovers again, this should be a 20 point game and I don’t think Denver is quick enough or athletic enough to force us into that. Quote
Hans8891 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 …and just when I say that we have an unforced turnover and lead is down to 5… Quote
Hans8891 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Pemberton has really displayed her athleticism the last couple of games. If we could develop an offense with movement, she is hard to contain one on one. Unfortunately our dribble heavy offense puts her in a lot of double teams that are tough to get open lanes. Quote
Hans8891 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 We are playing a terrible team and it is 20-17 at the half with neither team breaking 30 percent shooting. We should be up 20 against this team. They went to a zone and we are still busy dribbling for half the possession… Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 UND is on a six minute scoreless drought and counting Quote
ND-fan Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 Lucky we’re hitting our free throws but I don’t see how they loose to NDSU by only 10 and then NDSU turns around beats ORU by 10. If Denver starts to hit hitting few shots they still could comeback in the fourth. Quote
Hans8891 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 We may finally have broken through. We finally beat the press with 2 passes and without trying to dribble through it 3 out of the last 5 possessions and scored each time - with only one stupid turnover dribbling into a trap during that stretch. Right direction if we actually continue it… Quote

Great effort by our women’s team today Quote
ND-fan Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 The next three games will determine where we stand in Summit. The first game is against South Dakota and is at home and in my estimation probably a game we should win and is team similar to us in rebuilding mode. Second game is against South Dakota state at Brookings a game we have small percentage winning and would be real upset if it happens. Third is NDSU at Fargo and game Mallory would like to win with hard feelings from past several years but Jory Collin’s has owned Mallory in his 5 previous season winning 9 out of 10 games. Likely hood is NDSU win again playing at home and in the past having out coached Mallory on making adjustments to Malory’s. Both teams are both young but SU has more length and does have couple senior leaders. If we win one game we would be position to compete for fourth in the conference. If we loose 3 probably would be looking for the 5 or 6 place in the conference. If we would win more than one game in next three we could be position to compete for up to third place. The loss to ORU other night makes it difficult to reach any higher in the conference by giving up game at home. These next three games will show how far we have come and if we capable of reaching higher level of play. I have doubts yet but also have seen some improvement of playing better basketball but now when level competition improves do move forward or revert back to what we have been last few years. Let’s hope we are moving forward. 1 Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 South Dakota has won 16 of the last 17 against us we are ahead at the half 44-28 Quote
MoSiouxFan Posted January 16 Posted January 16 By far, our best half of the year: turnover-wise (only 7), shooting wise (over 50%, plus 7-17 on 3's), and rebounding-wise (23-12 edge). Hope we can keep it up. 2 Quote
ND-fan Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 Larkins is having hard time getting good shot with us having Horn and Mathern both players having length and enough quickness to defend. See how yotes respond. Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 We blocked 7 of their shots and they have not blocked one of ours we have doubled up on rebounds keep it up Quote
forksandspoons Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Very impressed tonight. Finish it off! Has to be one of the best shooting performances in a very long time. Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 We are up by 19 after 3 qtr fun team to watch when we play well 1 Quote
sioux24/7 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 So what’s the Yotes story? Down year? I know they have a new coach. Or maybe we are turning the corner? Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 That was fun demers and abrahim both had 13 rebounds ok men your turn Quote
TeedUppp Posted January 16 Posted January 16 What a team effort! The resilience is off the charts! Something’s different and whatever sparked it, let’s keep it going. Seeing the ball movement and unselfish play is really enjoyable to watch. Let’s hope the Betty continues to fill up more every game! 3 Quote
NewUndFan Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Fun game to watch tonight! The girls played their hearts out. South Dakota is not very good this year but still a big win. Win or lose I like watching a team give it all. I still believe this is all our new assistant coach. They are getting more out of these players then the talent we have. I hope they can recruit some players in the off season out of the portal Quote
NDRoots4Life Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Great game by the girls tonight. They kept the turnovers down and used good ball movement on offense to create nice looking open shots. Quote
NDPROUD Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Great TEAM win! They seem to be playing better as a team and the results showed. There was a good crowd last night and the program needs more of that to be successful. I know winning goes hand in hand with a program's success, but I wish UND/Betty would do more to draw fans in. With a combined ND/EGF population of 68k, it should not be hard to fill the Betty. Atmosphere changes outcomes. It was fun to watch the ND girls, their leadership and work ethic is exciting and contagious. I would hope UND does all it can to recruit talent here in it's home state. I realize that there is always that draw to play for a top school or winning program, but are we doing all we can to sway them? UND is already a top school academically. If only this basketball program could just turn the corner...the program will sell itself. 4 Quote
ND-fan Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 Yes, they are playing more as team now and I do think that Sutter has done a lot to improve their play. I have noticed even at timeouts he and other coaches are more in discussion with players giving information to the players. I think Mallory more into player rotation and working the referees recently during the game and has delegated some technical parts to her assistant. I will give her credit for this we are seeing improvement on our fundamentals and maybe we can crawl up in Summit standings and have chance to win few games in conference tournament. Still long way to go to reach that goal and see if we can continue improve. Quote
