forksandspoons Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Aumer on fire. Pemberton goes down with an ankle. Going to be tough to hold the lead without her as she’s been great tonight. Quote
gfhockey Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Is it me or was Mal and mayville at coach gighting Quote
Hans8891 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Pemberton has been incredible. Bossy works her tail off and the rest of the girls are having a decent night. Sad to say that 18 turnovers is good but it is a lot better than usual. We are fortunate they have missed wide open looks. Our d rotation leaves 20 wide open looks a game from the 3 but they haven’t hit much. Mallory’s inability to coach against a press is inexcusable. Walker Demers has no one within 25 feet of her down the court and we are so busy dribbling into double teams we can’t figure it out. And at the end of the game up by 5, our entire offense is Jossy dribbling for 25 seconds until we have no choice but to throw up a terrible shot. Surprise surprise we go to overtime. Inexcusable coaching - or lack thereof. Quote

Hans8891 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Welcome to Mallory’s idea of an offense. Kacie dribbling for 4 years and now Jossy. They have played well tonight in spite of having an offense that gives them no opportunities. Quote

NewUndFan Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Probably not a popular post. But I believe it's all the assistant coach why we have turned things around a bit. Mal had 5 years and couldn't do it. They just need the Mayville coach to take over the rest of the season Quote
NDPROUD Posted January 10 Posted January 10 If only Pemberton could share the darn ball, several times Demers was wide open tonight. Sure she can score, but her assist numbers are always low to none. It would have made the difference tonight, they would have won in regulation. 1 Quote

ND-fan Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 This looks like Hutters defense he had Mayville and similar to their offense of players spread looking for three and trying to go inside with a post or drive by forwards. Still to many turner overs but least most of them haven’t been in layup the other way. The last quarter and overtime’s we reverted to Mallories offense. If it’s true Mallory let me coach I all I have to say when we’re playing Hutters basketball we become pretty good team. Pemberton is scorer but good coach would have worked on getting her To look for assists up. Mallory likes star player roll you see it her player choices like Hurst in past and Owen this year players are aggressive in looking for their shot. Mallory doesn’t have lot of patience to run offense she wants to run and gun. If that doesn’t work we end up putting poor shot or turnover trying to drive force a shot. Mallory should delegate and learn something new because her future will depend on successful UND can learn what Hutters has brought to the program. 2 Quote
