Frozen4sioux Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 BC is well represented to day the least. Quote
Wilbur Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 USA playing against Slovaks today. Up 1-0 early. If anyone wants to see a goaltending performance, watch the replay of Slovakia vs. Finland. Quote
Wilbur Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 USA wins 7-1....will play Canada or Sweden for the ship. Quote

This really emphasizes our need to get back in the mix for high-end young recruits - like our rivals BU, BC, Minny, and Michigan. But it is worth pointing out that the schools you listed all currently have extensive natty droughts. So we aren't the only school struggling to finish off seasons. Quote

Point taken - it also requires playing a full 60 minutes and working your system - including being responsible for where you are supposed to be (not just chasing the puck into the corner) - See Quinnipiac. However if you look at our returning roster this next year it tells you a lot about how recruiting has been going the last several seasons - Compare that to our two biggest rivals - Denver and Minny. When we are successful we have had a nice blend of high end talent and role players (and good goaltending). It is sad to see other teams have much more success with top talent. We need to get back in the mix. I'm not sure if our playing style hurts us but their is that theory. Quote
brianvf Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 BC is going to get an immediate and big boost next season when those three get added to their lineup. Yes, they'll be young, but they are sure talented. Those will be some good Hockey East battles between the BC trio and Celebrini at BU. Quote
LuvHockey Posted April 29, 2023 Posted April 29, 2023 Canada was crushed by Sweden today. Got two 5 min PP and failed to score on both. (First looked like a goalie dive too). USA vs Sweden at noon Sunday on NHLnet. Quote
Wilbur Posted April 30, 2023 Posted April 30, 2023 Trey Augustine fantastic in net today as team USA comes back and wins in OT 3-2 against an excellent Sweden team. Sparty has got themselves a goalie. Quote
