rumors of a Saudi backed LIV style basketball league....wonder if that could happen...if it does what's next?  mlb, nhl, nfl???

if it happened with the PGA it can happen again...the saudi have more money than god and are surrounded by sand so why not just buy all the major sports league in the usa

I stopped really caring about the NBA after Jordan's second retirement in 1998.

I don't think they really miss you.  NBA averages 3-5 times the NHL viewership.  

I don't understand the need for a number of hockey fans to trash basketball.  I have lived my entire life in MN and ND and don't remember it going the other way very often, mainly hockey fans running down basketball. 

It's an old argument on here but I know a lot of hockey-only fans that wouldn't consider attending another sport at UND.  To each his own, but I don't understand the need to trash other sports.

I use to watch religiously back in the late 70’s to the mid 90’s. Loved the rivalaries with the Bull and Pistons and Celtics and Lakers. Also enjoyed watching the round mound of rebound. I just don’t like the product since the turn of the century. And I don’t understand why it bothers people that some of us don’t care for it. I know many that don’t like hockey. There choice. Just my 2 cents. Watch away

I'm happy for you.

It doesn't bother me that you and others don't care for it.  My post was clear on that.  It's the need to tell everyone about it and trash the NBA that I don't understand. 

I don't ever think I've seen anyone go on an NHL or college hockey thread on here and post that they don't like those games.  Is just weird to me that anyone feels the need to do that.

You are still missing the point.  The question is why do some people feel the need to tell us they only like hockey and it hardly happens in the other direction?  It comes across as petty and weird.

I watch pretty much every sport including college basketball. Love March Madness. I’ll be watching Stanley Cup Playoffs tonight. Shocking I know. I’m done now

Lack of rivalries for one. Like I said loved the rivalries back in the day. Players seem to change teams every other year. Putting together super teams. But most of all it’s become a 3 point league

The 3 point game is totally different than what most grew up watching.  Also, the physicality of the league has changed immensely.  What was once considered a common/hard foul is now often reviewed for being flagrant.  While today's players are much more skilled (shooting) they are not necessarily better players than their predecessors.  The thing that drives me crazy is the constant switching of pivot feet and extra steps to the rim with travelling rarely called.  It's just a different game.
