Purpur for Prez?

So why not Ray Purpur? He's 46, a good age with lots of energy to take on the job. He's a UND grad, who's done well at another very good school. He's not a professor/department head from some effete eastern school. He bleeds green and sees this as a lifetime dream job, not a stepping stone, or a final run before retiring. He compares well to the last good prez we had. If I had a vote, he'd get it!

Maybe. But including your family connections in your resume is a wee bit tacky, no? I mean, a subtle, CASUAL reference in your cover letter is one thing, but to put your freaking family lineage in your resume? When it's completely obvious from your last name anyway? Sounds like something a Kennedy, Vanderbilt, or a British royal would do...not a middle aged man from Grand Forks, even though he is as close to GF/hockey royalty as people are going to get around here.

Who cares about the "lineage". It just shows how UND is in his blood.

Who cares? Obviously, Ray does. He name-dropped, plain and simple.

You don't need to apologize for him. Just agree with me that it was uber-tacky to do it in a professional resume.

Name-dropping family members .....didn't know that was possible.
